Total Family Health Care Center (TFHCC) is a Community Mental Health Center that provides Psychiatric Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Medical Services for patients across the life span-children to geriatrics. We have offices in several locations and its a multidisciplinary behavioral healthcare group organized to meet the comprehensive mental health needs of our community and the surrounding South Florida area. Services includes psychiatric evaluations, medication, individual, group, couple, marriage and family therapies, substance abuse, and mental health counseling for adults and children.

Dr. Gomez treats clients ages 15 & up. Sessions may be face to face or virtual (using a HIPAA compliant platform). We understand that medication management is not the only solution. The lifestyle that precipitated the stress response in the first plans needs to change. In addition to psychotherapy and medication management, we place high regards for modalities such as weight management, medical management, and sleep hygiene to combat the body’s inflammatory response, which exacerbates mental illness. We aim to uses the lowest effective dose and help people to eventually not depend on medication.

Medicine can be a helpful tool, but some people don't like to be on medication, while others want to be on the minimum amount possible; I will work with you to find that inner peace and freedom you desire. When needed, I prescribe psychiatric medication as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, including exercise, meditation, vitamins, and nutritional supplements.

Dawn Smith Walsh is a dual-board-certified nurse practitioner in primary care and psychiatric mental health. Dawn has a unique and refreshing approach; she artfully listens to patients and considers not only the best medication choice but offers practical insights, too. She has worked in psychiatric hospitals and cares for clients in inpatient settings and private practice.

I am a board certified psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APRN) trained to diagnose and prescribe medication for patients with mental health issues. Prior to becoming a Psychiatric APRN I was an Emergency Department RN, working in local ERs for 30+years. I have worked for Bardmoor ER & Morton Plant psychiatric ER & inpatient pediatric psychiatric unit, St. Petersburg General ER, & Northside Hospital & Heart Institute ER. I also have experience working with Veterans and worked at Bay Pines VA ER & inpatient psychiatric unit for 5 yrs. I am currently a Sexual Assault Examiner with The Suncoast Center S.A.V.E team.
