I am a doctorally-prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I utilize a holistic, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and collaborative approach to managing a variety of mental health conditions requiring medication treatment. Although I specialize in psychiatric (medication) treatment, I value integrative and complementary therapies and will offer these options alongside medications as requested or indicated. Additionally, I offer the option of conducting visits virtually. In doing so, I aim to increase access to psychiatric care with the use of Telemedicine, an evidence-based healthcare delivery model.

I start with a psychiatric evaluation to better understand my patients and make an informed decision when it comes to diagnosis. After this, therapy and or medication management are options. I work with ages 10-55. I have experience with pediatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as in private practice. I also have experience with adults in an outpatient setting. I have worked with patients with Depression, Anxiety, OCD, ADHD, Autism, DMDD, Bipolar, PTSD, and Psychosis. I offer in person and telehealth appointments on Saturday. More office days to come!

South University awarded me a Master of Science in Nursing with honors and a family medicine specialty. I completed my post-master certificate in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Norwich University. I hold national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I am currently licensed to practice in Oregon and Washington.

Dr. Ma graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and obtained Ph.D. in Neuroscience from University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, he finished residency training in Psychiatry at University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center, and completed research and fellowship training at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
