I specialize in sex therapy, grief, trauma, and cancer survivorship.
I believe deeply in the healing power of intimate connection—the bond we nurture with ourselves and our partners. In sex therapy, my goal is not for you to be in treatment indefinitely but to support you in reclaiming a fulfilling and joyful sexual relationship. I aim to help you rediscover your ability to experience pleasure, trust, and emotional intimacy, whether this is with yourself or in a partnered relationship. I want you to feel connected and aligned with your sexual self, empowering you to become your own guide in maintaining a healthy and satisfying sex life.

I specialize in trauma, grief, pet loss, and life stressors that teens, young adults, and professionals need help processing.
My desire as a therapist is to help others discover the joy in living. I believe that those burdened with traumatic or distressing life events can find hope, healing, and freedom. Many high-performing, intelligent people secretly battle anxiety, depression, and trauma/stress, and they become overwhelmed trying to handle it alone. The mask of perfection smiles that "everything is ok," while the true person feels lost, drained, and confused. If you or a loved one are having difficulty navigating life due to upsetting, stressful life experiences, therapy can provide opportunities to breathe deeply again and look forward to a new day.

I take continual training in issues of grief and bereavement for all ages, and have both individual and group grief counseling sessions for adolescents and adults across the life span.
I utilize a humanistic, collaborative and solution focused counseling approach with clients, involving actively listening to their life narrative, and exploring how it may be preventing them from reaching desired goals. In sessions, with a questioning and curious mind, we explore and dialogue on how the client may perceive things differently in their therapeutic process. Throughout, I provide support, empowering them to take responsibility in making healthy adjustments in their life. It is through the client learning the importance of self-respect, self-compassion,confidence, and humor, that they find themselves living a more wholesome, healthy, and transformed life.

Great artist say after a period of sadness comes, they create the most significant works of art. Life challenges such as change of job/ career transition, divorce can lead to a richer life with unforeseen opportunities for fulfillment. Loss is universal and can take many forms including the loss of a loved one. Loss is a difficult journey and often diminished by society. The time it takes to work through life challenges and change can be difficult without support. Self care and coping strategies during transitions can help you heal and lower stress for your current challenge, and give you life skills for all change.

Grief Support Groups

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
