I primarily work with adults and teens in individual and group therapy settings.
Counseling, to me, is a collaborative space where clients are empowered to explore, find their own path, and work towards their goals. I’m a queer, neurodiverse counselor, and while I am especially passionate about discussing gender, sexuality, and neurodiversity with clients, I enjoy working on a variety of concerns with clients of any identity or experience. Therapy with me often includes building self-awareness, learning and practicing validation, and challenging oneself to make desired changes at a realistic pace.

It's important to talk about your loved one, honor your emotions and recognize the various stages of mourning. With loss also comes changes in self-identity and the role a person plays in life. This group is a safe space where you can share your story without judgment, and find comfort and understanding among others who are going through a similar experience. This group will assist you in exploring your thoughts on identity changes and also have a safe space to explore your unresolved feelings.

I have over 10 years of experience working with adults, couples, and families in various capacities.
Our life experiences can lead us to question our identity and purpose in the world we live in. This can lead us to anxiety, depression, and trauma. Do you want to improve how you face challenges, function in your relationships, and face overwhelming feelings? I place heavy importance on addressing trauma. Trauma disintegrates the parts that make up your whole self, which can leave aspects of who you are hidden from your awareness. Left unaddressed, anxiety and depression can worsen, which can rob you of the necessary connection that all human beings need to thrive. I aim to help you process unresolved trauma.

This group is an opportunity for men to cultivate more fulfilling relationships with themselves, loved ones, and other men. Through self-exploration and receiving the support of others, participants have the opportunity to find a deeper strength within. This strength can be used to overcome the fear of change, become more emotionally engaged, and connect more deeply to participants' own inner wisdom. Topics include relationship, masculinity, commitment ambivalence, confidence, sex and intimacy, anger, and emotional awareness. The environment is confidential and non-judgmental so participants feel free to share their authentic selves.

I work with all populations, especially men and young adults, using an integrative approach that emphasizes mindfulness and a holistic view of the self.
Deciding to start therapy is a sign of strength. I believe all people have a natural inclination toward growth and wholeness and sometimes things get in the way. Exploring these obstacles with compassion and courage can help you cultivate the most important relationship of your life -- your relationship with yourself. Whether your challenge is depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationships, addictions or career challenges, all you need to get started is the desire to change.

Childhood trauma is defined as an event or events experienced by a child that is emotionally painful, frightening, or distressful, which can often lead to lasting mental and physical effects. Symptoms of childhood trauma in adults can include but are not limited to anger, depression, emotional outbursts, addiction, low self-esteem, and social disconnectedness. This group is for adult survivors of (childhood) physical, sexual, and or emotional abuse. The purpose of the group is to provide an open, safe, and supportive space for survivors to process unresolved feelings and build connections and friendships while healing from childhood trauma together.

Young adults (ages 18-26) are good candidates for IOP if they experience frequent, significant mental health difficulties that impact their family, peer relationships, school, and/or job. IOP offers more severe preventative treatment than a traditional outpatient setting offers and is also recommended as a "step down" level of care for young adults recently released from the hospital following suicide attempts. BACA's IOP treatment plan includes: individual therapy to address specific goals, medication management, and opportunities to share experiences in groups to gain support from other young adults dealing with similar difficulties.

Our IOPs are geared towards youth and young adults who have moderate to severe mental health symptoms that are impacting their daily life (school, family, relationships, etc).
Bay Area Clinical Associates (BACA) is a physician-owned and operated organization committed to providing integrated, scientific, empathetic mental health treatment for kids, teens, young adults and their families. As a note, we serve only ages 26 years and under. BACA is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of child & adolescent psychiatrists, licensed marriage & family therapists, and licensed clinical social workers. We work to take the "mystery" out of psychiatric care and have a relaxed, fun, caring environment at our clinics. Our Berkeley outpatient clinic is currently impacted but we have openings for our IOPs.
