I am very direct and straight forward in my approach. As an interpersonal therapist my emphasis is on developing an honest and trusting relationship with clients, offering thoughts about the client's underlying issues. My objective is to create a therapeutic environment in which the client feels he /she can say whatever is on his/her mind. My belief is that a good relationship between therapist and patient is indispensable if progress is to be made. I always respect the client's agenda and never attempt to impose my own.
I am an Institute trained psychotherapist with more than thirty years in the field. I have also supervised and trained therapists. I work with short-term treatment (six-ten sessions) as well as long-term, with couples and groups as well as with individuals.
I am very adept at getting to the root of problems. One of my specialties is couples therapy. My view is that miscommunication is often a cause of dysfunction. Couples must learn to express disappointment and anger without alienating each other. I also specialize in writers block.
