As an experienced grief, life transition and relationship therapist, I believe that old hurts can resurface in tough times and cause us to repeat patterns that get in the way of our relationships, goals and our lives.
This wasn’t the way it was supposed to be. You want to appear like you have it “all together”, but deep down you are anything but! Stressed out, anxious and full of self-doubt, you feel alone and overwhelmed as you struggle with unexpected challenges. Clients come to me looking for a therapist who has clinical experience and life experience because therapy should be a place where you feel safely guided by someone who can offer ideas and strategies when you feel stuck.

Some are grappling with depression or anxiety, others with relationship difficulties, historic issues, or life transitions.
These are unprecedented times, rife with unprecedented challenges. The uncertainty of the situation, the lack of a map for understanding the present and envisioning the future, is a source of chronic stress for almost everyone one, and takes a particularly heavy toll on some. Its impacts are being felt at every level, experienced in ways that continue to evolve and that may be overwhelming. We are all new to this situation, but we are not new to grappling with unforeseen problems or having to pick our way though the unknown. Helping people to do that, even in ordinary times, is what my work is all about.

Together, we can work towards helping you find happiness, fulfillment, and contentment by exploring and uncovering the root causes of your dissatisfaction and relationship difficulties.
I see you—searching through profiles, hoping to find a therapist who truly gets it. Someone who can ask the right questions, connect the dots, shake things up, and help you move forward. If you’re ready—and I believe you are—I’m here for you. If you’re feeling constant dissatisfaction, no matter how much you achieve, chasing the next thing, molding yourself to others, or feeling empty, frustrated, exhausted, and alone—I can walk with you. You don’t have to keep searching for solutions on your own. Together, we can explore why you feel this way and guide you toward a path of true fulfillment.

Being collaborative, non-judgmental and creating a trusting relationship are the key elements to the success of our work together.
It's in our nature to need connection and belonging. When we are in an intimate relationship, sometimes we fight, get discouraged and feel hopeless. We may feel lost and misunderstood. In our couple work, I will help you see the negative cycle that couples enter when they fight, identify the emotional needs and bring understanding and new patterns of communication that will bring satisfaction in your couple. During our individual journey of life, we experience challenges, negative events, losses and anxiety which can make us unhappy. Through our collaborative work, I will accompany and support you in finding connection and purpose.

Beyond tools, tasks, and techniques, the experience of a healing and affirming therapeutic relationship is also key to becoming 'unstuck' and to moving in the direction of health.
Welcome! Having been one of the first in Calgary to be certified in sex addiction therapy, the bulk of my practice consists of individuals and couples in various stages of sex and other addiction recovery. Do you need help in the struggle to remain sober? Would you benefit from guidance in the formulation and maintenance of an effective recovery plan? Do you need a compassionate listener as you make sense of the trauma of discovery? My goal is to promote awareness of your emotional life; to help you establish and negotiate appropriate boundaries; and to enhance trust in all your relationships.

If your current relationship is struggling because of conflict, lack of connection, or problems you can't fix on your own, I can help.
Do you and your partner find yourselves caught in the same arguments, no matter what you do? Maybe your thoughts are filled with the idea that you’re not good enough, or you find it hard to trust. You’ve tried talking it out, but that only seems to make things worse.

I support couples and people struggling with relationship challenges, people pleasing, perfectionism, burnout or anything that leads us to feeling “not enough.
Do you struggle with feeling disconnected from others or yourself? Do you believe you "aren't enough" despite continuously working to help yourself and others? More than ever, we are feeling anxious, burnt out, and overwhelmed about how we can fully engage in our lives, careers, and relationships. Pushing away our needs or struggling to find the first step can lead to emotional, mental and physical exhaustion. I believe that life doesn't have to be so hard.

Along with helping clients with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, substance use and other mental health challenges, much of our therapy work falls into 1 of 5 areas: Parenting Support and Child/Adolescent Therapy • Men's Issues & Mental/Emotional Health • Relationship Health • Career transition and work-related counselling • Separation and Divorce.
Let's face it, life can feel unbearable at times and relationships and parenting are emotionally taxing. If you're reading this and this is your first time working with a psychologist, this is likely not a high moment for you. Rarely do clients start a session with, "My life is great! Things couldn't be better!" The reality is you're struggling, feeling lost and in pain, things are not going well for you or someone you care about, and we have entered the picture somewhere along the way. That you trust a therapist or anyone else enough to connect with you in that struggle is tough to do, and a responsibility we do not take lightly.

I believe that healing occurs in relationship, and that both our mind and body reflect the beliefs we hold about ourselves and the world.
I understand the courage it takes to begin or re-enter therapy. I am honoured to be a part of this process with you. You deserve to find a therapist you connect with, who sees you as a human, rather than a problem to be fixed. My mission is to help you process your trauma, feel your feelings, explore your identity, and support you to connect to yourself and others through healing attachment experiences within the therapeutic relationship. I am passionate about working with women experiencing concerns related to trauma, self-esteem and identity. I take a down-to-earth approach, using humour and compassion to genuinely connect.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
