I use an integrative approach designed for your specific needs, goals, and history, to support you in re-connecting to your authentic self.
Have you ever felt like you needed to do “more” or be “more” in order to feel like you are “enough?” Overwhelmed by guilt if you have needs of your own? Or believe if you did acknowledge YOU in relationships it could end in abandonment, disappointment or being alone? You may have learned to relate to yourself in this way for as long as you can remember and does not mean you are “broken” in need of being “fixed”. When we remove judgment and begin to see our “true self” through the lens of curiosity we get to reconnect with who we have always wanted to be but was too afraid to try.

I use an integrative, evidence-based approach that is person-centred, trauma-informed, strength-based, and change-oriented.
Hello! I am a Registered Psychotherapist with over 14 years of experience providing counselling and psychotherapy services to a diverse, adult population. As an adjunct clinical professor, I supervised and trained junior colleagues and student therapists for over 5 years. Finding a therapist you "click with" is one of the best predictors of positive outcome in therapy. I value getting to know who you are aside from your presenting concerns and developing a genuine, human connection. Using evidence-based practice, I will pull from different models of therapy to tailor my approach to your specific needs and who you are as a person.

I utilize an integrative approach to psychotherapy tailored to the unique needs, values, identities, and goals of my clients.
Life can be tricky to navigate at the best of times, and we can quickly feel as though we’re in over our heads. Sometimes we need somebody to walk alongside us, bear witness to our struggle, and offer a safe space to explore what we really need to start living the life that embodies our values. I am a person-centred psychotherapist that operates out of a trauma-informed, humanistic framework in my provision of individual counselling for adults. I am open to supporting folks who may be struggling with mental health, facing difficult life transitions, struggling in relationships, or in need of support for processing trauma or grief.

My background holds 40yr of extensive practice experience and continued learning. Expertise:all relationship concerns; recovery/healing from emotional hurts, losses, trauma. Such events, if in early years, can instill persistent insecurity, fears, loneliness and grief, causing troubled close relationships and inner-life: Restricting our core resilient nature where we keep strong potentials to be more open, creative, confident, realistic/effective persons. Mainly treat “self-regulation” problems: Social anxiety, shame/guilt, anger, depression; Overdependencies; Intimacy-sexuality, Communication; Identity-Personality issues;Selfcare.

I am a Clinic Director and Psychotherapist, highly experienced in Canada and abroad, in providing individualized care for a variety of mental issues and illnesses. An ideal client would be someone who is willing to put in the work to take a step towards change. Yet, you may not be ready for change, either way therapy is a safe form to find out. I want to help clients achieve their mental health goals through empowerment, awareness, acceptance and healing, with the use scientifically-based techniques that have been proven to be highly effective. You'll acquire the necessary tools to achieve a mind-body-soul approach to health.

Waitlist for new clients
Please note: I'll be reopening my waitlist as of Nov 2024. People often seek out therapy to work on their problems when really, it's their solutions that are no longer working. Does this sound familiar? As a skilled therapist, I will partner with you to clarify what is important and help you design creative, meaningful and lasting change in your life. In our work together, you will notice that I am very encouraging, and I will challenge you when you look like you could use it. Together we will create a space where you can bravely experience the sometimes-uncomfortable feelings that come with personal growth.

When we aren't feeling like the best version of ourselves, it's tough to engage in our lives and relationships in the way we would like to; our daily stress adds up and pulls us away from the things and people that are important to us. Whether little things in your life are piling up and becoming overwhelming or you are in the midst of a major life transition, accessing support is an important first step to living a values-driven life. Dedicating time and space to process our thoughts with an unbiased listener can build the insight we need to thrive.

I am an AuDHD non-binary lesbian therapist that operates an intersectional, anti-racist 2SLGBTQ+ and neurodiversity-affirming practice. I know from experience that growing up neurodivergent can often be traumatic, and made even harder when you are undiagnosed, unsupported, or experiencing gender or race-based discrimination. Identifying as neurodivergent and unmasking as an adult can be freeing, confusing, scary, and can bring up past traumas. I can help you explore your values and intersecting identities, build self-compassion, set boundaries, identify needs and accommodations, and heal from complex traumas.

Accepting new clients! Your thoughts never stop, you have a permanent pit in your stomach, and life feels both overwhelmingly busy, yet empty at the same time. You do your best to manage the constant anxiety spirals about school, work, friends, your body, your relationship, and/or the future, but the relief you get from scrolling social media, drinking/smoking/eating, and pushing your thoughts away is temporary. Everyone keeps telling you "you just need to try harder/be less lazy/stop worrying!" but you feel that's all you are ever trying to do! Exhausting, isn't it? Let's chat about how we can shift this together.

Integrative Counsellors

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behaviour patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
