I know how lonely, frightening and overwhelming it can be to face a death, yours or someone you know; how hard it can be to figure out who you are authentically when people you care about don’t see you or accept you for who you are; how upsetting it can be when our relationships are struggling or when our beliefs and world views are shifting.
If you are experiencing grief, life transitions, trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, loneliness and other types of emotional distress or seeking a safe place to explore your concerns around sexuality, gender or spirituality, I hope you will reach out. Together we can get to know the various parts of you that are struggling and find out what you need for self understanding, resilient coping, self compassion, curiosity, calm, access to your creativity and helping you move from survival to thriving.

One of the most important human needs is to be witnessed — to feel heard, seen, and supported. This is my wish for you. Through the strength of my clients sharing their stories and from my own experiences with repeated miscarriages, fertility treatment and motherhood, I have learned that each person’s story is unique and worth telling. I will support you wherever you are in the spectrum of womanhood—infertility, loss, pregnancy, birth trauma, postpartum, motherhood, and beyond. As a former doula turned therapist, I have spent the last decade supporting women through these vulnerable life stages.

I have experience working with individuals of all ages, helping them navigate various life situations, including relationship issues, separation/divorce, mental health (trauma, depression, anxiety), addictions, parenting support, adjusting to parenthood, loss, grief, and bereavement, as well as support with setting healthy boundaries to protect ourselves.
Shame dies when stories are told in safe spaces... and that is exactly what I'm hoping to offer my clients; A safe and supportive space for people to talk about those hard things, working through interpersonal struggles and relationships, and finding ways to thrive when it feels like life is overwhelming, or not what you were expecting. I have a friendly, relaxed style and offer a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space to connect. I see it as a privilege to hear about your most personal struggles, and to support you through your growth and healing journey. I am currently only seeing clients virtually.

There’s a lot that holds us back from trying therapy. We may think we need a serious problem to see a therapist. But therapy is for everyone. Because, as humans, we experience sadness, grief, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation. The only qualification to go to therapy is to be human. You may ask, why not talk to a friend? Because friends aren’t properly trained to listen. And the healing begins the moment you feel properly heard. As you attend therapy, patterns emerge, insights appear, wounds open up, and traumas are acknowledged. Going to therapy is an investment in your human potential and betterment. It is a sign of sanity.

I have a solid knowledge base and considerable experience in supporting clients in coping with trauma, loss, and mental health concerns and I embed a trauma-focused, equity lens into all areas of my practice.
As a Social Worker, I provide a safe space for individuals to open up about their challenges, utilizing a variety of therapeutic strategies and interventions to help elevate people's lives so they can have better opportunities to live an authentic and fulfilling life. My lived experiences are incorporated into my clinical work to support others in connecting “head to heart” in challenging and dismantling the many social constructs people often feel they need to uphold. As you begin to lean into the vulnerability of speaking your truth, the awakening journey begins.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with 10 years of experience providing counselling, training, and group therapy to a diverse adult population. During this time I have witnessed how difficult, and yet relieving, it can be to take those first steps to seek help. As your therapist I will provide a warm, authentic, and encouraging space to be curious about what is causing you to suffer and ways to help you live a more meaningful and rich life.

Grief Counsellors

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
