I help people regain control of their relationships and their lives. If you feel burdened by something that happened in the past, or if your current relationship is not supportive, I can help you clarify your feelings and decide on the best plan for you. Often, our decisions are clouded by emotions such as guilt, shame, anxiety, worries, sadness, and hidden anger. Once we uncover what's really going on and help you connect with your authentic self, the heaviness will lift and you will naturally know what to do. You don't have to navigate this alone and I am here to help! Check out my google review on True Presence Counselling

People often have creative ways of distancing themselves from uncomfortable and painful emotions and experiences. You might find yourself coping by burying them away, keeping yourself endlessly busy and distracted, or saying, I’m okay, I’m just fine. But as these unprocessed things build, you may have an unsettled or anxious feeling, feel that you are not yourself, or experience emotional explosions that confuse or overwhelm yourself or others. You may come to a place where you feel helpless, trapped, or depressed.

Dr. Hersh is also seeing patients online. It is an exciting technology that is efficient and effective. Many of our patients are in Calgary - Edmonton, AB and Nelson - Kelowna - Vancouver, BC. People who live anywhere can now have consultations. Skype offers the intimacy and immediacy of an in-office consultation, including the important visual cues which we are able to share with each other via web cam, from the comfort of your own home or office at more easily convenient times.

Hello! I'm Meredith MacKenzie and I help women who feel out of control with food, tired of swinging from dieting to binge eating, leading to feel shame about their eating. You know the ins and outs of "healthy eating" but it just doesn't seem to work, and you blame yourself. You want freedom from food, to be able to eat what you love without overeating, and have a better relationship with your body. You want to be more attuned to your hunger and fullness cues and at peace with food, so you can more fully participate in your life without your feelings about your body or emotional eating looming over you. You deserve more.

The DBT skills group program is a 26 week course that teaches DBT related skills such as managing and coping with overwhelming emotions (emotion regulation), building healthy relationships (interpersonal effectiveness), and tolerating emotional distress without making matters worse (distress tolerance) to adolescents and their parents/caregivers. The group is led by two of our clinicians and there are a maximum of 5 families in the group. Many participants will complete the program twice (i.e. one year) to consolidate the skills. Please note, this is not a drop-in class and the adolescent must see an individual therapist regularly.

This group is a space for queer folx to gather in community, consciously relate, and share from their hearts within a therapeutic container. There is a profound power that comes from openly witnessing each other - in our struggles, truths, humanness and journeys. Something very precious and tender happens in these groups that is beyond what I have experienced in individual sessions. More info on the blog section of my website - pivotintoharmony.com - or contact me directly to learn more. We alternate between meeting online and in person (for those of us in Victoria). We always have a video-in option.

Specializing in somatic (body-based), nature-based, depth and existential counselling, my dog Hazel and I work alongside you to support your personal growth and healing. These frameworks are especially useful for folx who are struggling to find purpose and meaning, to heal from trauma, and to cultivate connection to the human and more-than-human-world. Together we work with embodiment, Soul, Spirit, archetypes, the natural world and dreams to move towards wholeness and health. I love working with queer folx across the spectrum. I also offer relationship counselling and welcome anyone with an interest in exploration into my practice

My focus is on Relationship Counselling. This encompasses all forms of relationships on an individual, couple or group counselling basis. Often when clients come in, clarification may be needed in order for clients to fully understand their part in a relationship. If this is the case, the first sessions will be on how to communicate from a grounded, rational viewpoint. Once this is achieved, clients will move into the next phase of deep relational emotion focused counselling to allow for a deeper understanding of self and each other.

People start to heal when they are heard. Do you feel anxious, misunderstood, alone, and overwhelmed? Is trying to control your reactions and feelings not working? Do you feel disconnected from your feelings or controlled by them? Are you disillusioned about your life? Perhaps you have a sense of not getting to the root of your struggles. You keep noticing the same dynamics, relationships and struggles you had in the past. This repetitive nature leaves you feeling discouraged and out of control of your life. It is hard to contemplate reaching out for help when you have taken pride in figuring things out for yourself.

A 6 Week - 6 Module Group Workshop to empower you with tools & techniques leading up to and for your birthing day. As a mother myself I noticed a need for this type of preparation. I found much focus on the physical preparation but hardly any real substance on the mental preparation. In this workshop we address how to deal with fears and where they come from. We look at getting clear on what is important to you. How to communicate effectively & be able ask for what you need and learn how to be mentally strong in uncomfortable physical situations.
