Athens Addiction Recovery Center provides individual and group therapy, partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) for alcohol and drug addiction. Formerly known as AARC, we now are The Recovery Center for quick reference. We offer both day and evening programs. We are conveniently located in the Athens Academy area, serving Northeast Georgia. Riverwoods Behavioral Health System provides premier inpatient treatment for children and adolescents ages 10-17 who are experiencing symptoms of addictions and mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, conduct disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We tailor treatment plans to each patient’s specific needs. During their time in treatment, children and adolescents may take part in various therapies, including individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and experiential therapies. Sessions are led by master’s-level therapists and offered weekly, except for group sessions, which are offered daily. Topics discussed in group sessions can include coping skills, creative expression, peer pressure, social skills, and relationship development.
