Adolescent Inpatient Treatment
Riverwoods Behavioral Health System provides premier inpatient treatment for children and adolescents ages 10-17 who are experiencing symptoms of addictions and mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, conduct disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We tailor treatment plans to each patient’s specific needs. During their time in treatment, children and adolescents may take part in various therapies, including individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and experiential therapies. Sessions are led by master’s-level therapists and offered weekly, except for group sessions, which are offered daily. Topics discussed in group sessions can include coping skills, creative expression, peer pressure, social skills, and relationship development. We utilize a rewards-based behavior modification model that allows patients to earn points by demonstrating healthy decision-making. We understand that this stage of life can be impressionable, and we prioritize providing care that is developmentally appropriate. Adult Inpatient Treatment
Our adult inpatient treatment program is the highest level of care offered at our treatment center and is available for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with symptoms of behavioral health concerns, such as addictions, depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. For adults age 65 and older, we offer a senior adult inpatient program that addresses mental health concerns that are more common in this age group, like dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. We also offer physical therapy several times per week in our geriatric unit to help support physical conditions that can challenge senior adults. The average length of stay in our adult inpatient programs is five to seven days, although the actual time spent in treatment is determined on an individual basis. The primary treatment modalities we use in our adult inpatient programs include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and person-centered group counseling. We also offer the C.O.R.E. (Challenge Overcome Restore Empower) program for active-duty service members. This program is designed to help military members struggling with substance use disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other effects of trauma. Our Treatment Center
