Additionally, I possesses a specialized skill set for working with individuals with disabilities, stemming from my lifelong involvement in volunteering and working within the disability community. My proficiency extends to a wide array of diagnoses, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, chronic illness, adjustment disorders, and avoidance disorder.

I have experience in counseling stroke survivors and survivors of sexual, physical, emotional and mental abuse. In addition, I’m experienced in helping clients work through grief and loss issues. My approach is diverse and client specific focusing on empowerment and becoming active participants in our life. By utilizing a variety of psycho-therapeutic techniques consistent with CBT, DBT, IFS and Trauma informed care, clients will feel supported through their mental health journey.

In my 15+ years of clinical practice I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with a variety of mental health challenges. I have given special focus to adolescents and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression, self-harm, self-esteem, and self-identity issues. I am always learning in order to increase my specialized focus on concerns related to anxiety, adoption and emerging adulthood. I enjoy working with the 10-25 year old age group but throughout my years of private practice I have worked with children as young as 5 and adults as young as 65. I hope to help clients find satisfaction in life.

I received my Bachelors and Masters of Social Work degrees from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, where I studied and practiced Trauma-Informed care, Person-Centered treatment approaches and Solution-Focused therapies. I also have experience using Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Stabilization and Intervention, Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, and Emotion-Regulation practices.
