I enjoy working with people experiencing difficulty in all elements of life. I look through the lens of family systems which means I incorporate family dynamics and looking at generational patterns to learn more about what is presently impacting the clients ability to function optimally. I specialize in working with families all together to support change longevity. I particularly enjoy working with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, or facing relationship difficulty. I use many methods to help people process their stress and trauma including art, movement, talk, and practicing alternative ways to navigate the world.

I respect it takes courage to seek and partner with a therapist. My core values as a clinician are to provide others utmost respect, hope, resiliency, concern, empathy, challenge, creating a path to recovery and healing. I enjoy working with adults through age sixty-five, and children ages four through twenty-one, including families. I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for thirty plus years, I am honored to enter with others in their healing journey.

Annie's past clinical experience includes working with a variety of clients at a community mental health agency dedicated to reaching underserved populations. Prior to becoming a licensed mental health counselor associate.Annie worked as a board-certified music therapist at a state psychiatric hospital for six years. Annie utilized a variety of expressive arts and therapeutic activities in both individual and group therapy settings.

Relationships are key to the individual human experience. I believe that it is no coincidence that when we find ourselves struggling in relationships, it has a profound effect on our individual emotional well being, just as experiencing a challenging life event can lead to difficulties in our close relationships. My practice specializes in therapy for individuals, couples, and families who are seeking to strengthen their current relationships following recent conflict, a difficult life event, individual or family trauma, or any other disruptive experiences. I am also currently accepting therapist trainees (post graduate) in need of clinical supervision.

These feelings can make you feel like your self-esteem has taken a hit and leave you feeling unworthy of love and belonging. I feel everyone has the potential to find balance and healing in rewriting their own future story. My goal in working with you would be to provide a safe place to explore and effectively express emotions, set goals to increase quality of life and improve communication skills while rebuilding your self-worth and self-esteem.

Sometimes we are able to handle life's difficulties on our own and sometimes we could use the help of a professional to conquer our dilemmas. I am honored to help people through those rough patches, and at all times guide them in a nonjudgmental, confidential, caring way. I do not take a 'one size fits all' approach to counseling. I will work with my clients to establish goals and how we will work towards that growth.

I am Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and have been credentialed by Washington State as a Child Mental Health Specialist and a Mental Health Professional. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, individuals and couples. My priority is to create space for my clients to feel safe and supported with whatever challenges they are currently facing. I have advanced training in Trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and emotion focused couples therapy. I have worked in a community mental health setting and correctional facilities dealing with co-morbid disorders.

Sometimes life throws us challenges that we struggle to handle. Sometimes friends and family are able to help. However, there are times when we need additional help. In therapy, we will work together to help you find your strengths to work through the challenges you are facing, that might seem too overwhelming to handle. I use a variety of therapeutic methods to help find the one that best fits you and your needs.

Depression, anxiety, conflict, betrayal and relationship issues impact all areas of our lives and can be addressed in a respectful and straight forward manner. I believe that counseling needs to meet you where you are so I am comfortable with using individual, couple or family therapy depending on what is most likely to be effective.
