Couples seeking a deeper connection in their relationship with their partner need to learn how to speak about and listen to their partner's dreams, inner world, and viewpoint. Often couples feel a sense of disconnection and distance from their partner, who was once their friend and admirer. Couples also want to stop feeling stuck in the same cycles of arguing and miscommunication. They want to start resolving problems and work towards compromise with each other. They want their dreams to come true and create a sense of shared meaning together. If you have lost your partner's love map, I am here to help you find it.

I work with individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and groups from a client centered systems perspective.
Everyone experiences loss. Seldom do we allow ourselves to fully experience loss or it's impact. When someone dies, we change jobs, or even have a child, there is loss. When we choose to address these losses, past or present, we can begin to heal, and with healing comes unlimited possibility. I work with families/individuals/children and the impact family dynamics have on their lives; adoptees and their families as they deal their losses; bereaved individuals and groups after the death of a loved one; transitional loss and role adjustment included "empty nest"; corporate downsizing; career counseling; and relationship issues.

Although I am passionate about empowering clients of all ages and backgrounds to lead healthier, happier lives, I specialize in the following areas: women’s issues, relationship and sexuality issues, career exploration/development, emotional abuse, counseling teens.
Therapy is a chance to slow down and step into a safe, confidential space away from the external world to explore your inner one. To sit in a quiet room with another human being who is unconditionally kind but honest, and also trained to recognize patterns of unhealthy behavior, irrational thinking, and the invisible blocks that keep you from being the best version of yourself. I invite you to begin your counseling journey with me and start this process of untangling emotional knots and using these insights to make positive changes in your life.

EFT is an empirically validated and successful model to work with couples and families.
You are always enough regardless. Just show up as you are; it is okay and welcomed. This is a place of gentleness, empathy, compassion, and authenticity. We are here to both figuratively and literally walk alongside you in your therapy journey either as an individual, couple, or family. Here it is not about what is wrong with you; it is about what has happened to you OR about the negative cycle that you have been stuck in. We make sense of it together. Mutually, we make sense of the brokenness, the pain, the relational distress. All behavior has context and fractures in relationships can be healed.

From major life transitions to relationship conflict to grief and pain, I am ready to meet you right where you are.
We all get stuck at one time or another in our ways of relating to others, reacting to loved ones, or resisting personal change. We can feel overwhelmed by loneliness, isolation, or life circumstances and our ability to cope with them. We find that we are not living authentic lives we can be at peace with due to anxiety, depression or even our past. I understand it can be hard to reach out for help when others depend upon you or expect you to have it all together. Have you tried everything else, and now you find yourself here? Know that you are not alone. Your concerns are valid and worthy of attention. Let's explore them together.

I provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can be heard and empowered to explore, discover, understand, and transform their lives. Many of my clients come seeking clarity on why they feel the way they feel, why their actions aren’t aligning with the person they know they are, what’s getting in the way of their goals, and how they have established relationship patterns that do not serve them. I work with clients to create a space that invites creativity and curiosity to solve problems, alleviate symptoms, and look inward at how our ways of thinking, feeling and behaving may be constricting our freedom to achieve.

I see clients who are struggling with complex relationship dynamics, depression and anxiety, moods disorders, life transitions such as divorce, remarriage, parenting teens, as well as clients pursuing spiritual integration and growth work.
Do you find yourself struggling in your most intimate personal relationships? Or feel like you're constantly playing small to make everyone else around you happy? Feeling misunderstood or unseen in your closest connections, is often a very lonely place to be. I can help you make sense of what seems like confusing interpersonal dynamics, so that you can begin to feel the genuine connection and sense of beloning we all crave as human beings. The self-knowledge, skills and insights you gain in session, are an investment into yourself and all your future relationships.

I work with couples to create greater security, openness, and connection.
Ideally, our early experiences of connection were secure, safe, accessible, and responsive and we developed an internal sense of ourselves as loveable, worthy, and deserving of getting our needs met. But what happens when this has not been our experience? Many of us have had to find ways to adapt and survive moments of disconnect, invalidation, or criticism. This can often mean we hold beliefs about ourselves that are limiting, worry that we have to hide or minimize parts of who we are, deny certain emotions, hustle for our worth, and/or build up layers of protection. I can support you to heal, connect and create lasting change.

I'm particularly concerned with the impact of loss and trauma and improving interventions to support trauma recovery for better emotional, physical, and relationship health.
I Graduated from Capella University, with my Master's degree in Social Work and currently working towards attaining my clinical license. I currently work part-time with About Change Inc, working with multi-disciplinary teams on implementing and evaluating patient care plans. I interned as a Counselor and have over 7 years of experience working with individuals, children, adolescents, and families who suffer from a variety of mental illnesses. I also work full-time in the Hospice field as a social worker to assist patients over the age of 18 and elders to provide comfort care when transcending to the end of life.
