I am experienced in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution-Based Therapy with a specialty in dual diagnosis (mental health combined with substance abuse).
Now accepting new clients on a waitlist! Whether you’re new to therapy or have prior experiences, we will find approaches that work for YOU to take control of your life. Complexity is my specialty; our problems and experiences don’t exist in a vacuum. Making meaningful, lasting changes to our mental health can be difficult enough without factoring in a person’s experiences. Whether you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, boundaries, life stressors, suicidal ideation, intrusive thoughts, or a combination of the above, we will untangle it together.

Nobody exists in a vacuum. Although life can be isolating, you don’t have to do it alone. In a time of DIY and instant gratification, I propose connection, collaboration, creativity, and courage in the therapeutic process. Like you, I’m human! I’m a woman, a wife, a mother, an immigrant, a person of faith, a therapist. While I believe everyone is doing their best, I honor and foster a desire for healthy change. For that, I utilize evidence-based approaches to draw on purpose and encourage self-efficacy. I invite and treasure honest feedback, and use the present moment to nourish insight-provoking reflection, and a path for thriving.

Life was hard enough before corona. Now, as everyone struggles, some are hurting more than others. If that sounds like you, or your child/teen, let's talk. Issues that were already there may have gotten worse, or maybe you're being proactive and need support to now to prevent escalation. Whatever is going on, I am here to help and genuinely care about what is best for you.

In my work with adults, children and teenagers, I focus on their strengths and encourage them to think beyond difficulties and identify achievable goals. I coach parents skills to better communicate with their children and become "safely unpredictable," particularly as many children (if not all) become experts in how to push their parents buttons! I have been told by many of my clients over the past 18 years that my warm and directive, confident approach has been most helpful. Many children and teenagers referred to my practice have been in therapy before, with limited success.

Traumatic experiences can and will affect us in various ways. Loneliness, negativity, abandonment, rejection, and our reactions can severely impact our mental health. Ironically, it is often easier to push away people than deal with difficult feelings. Unfortunately, we choose this path by abusing substances, alcohol, and other types of addictions. When we run away from our feelings and challenges, we are not allowing ourselves to heal and recover. Essentially, we are hurting ourselves and others. Together we can work through these difficult experiences and navigate around the painful emotions to feel better and find joy again.
