I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, and I do my best to ensure that treatment is tailored specifically to each client. As a therapist, I emphasize the therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist, as I believe that this the foundation and key to successful therapy.

I believe every woman, man and child has infinite value and worth. Whether we have experienced feelings of worthlessness because of our own actions or because of the actions of others, developing self-love is the pathway toward true joy. When we experience trauma, we develop false ideas about ourselves and the world that keep us in a place of fear, anger, and hopelessness. We make decisions based on those beliefs that cause ourselves and others despair. When we learn to love ourselves completely, we can find true healing within ourselves and the world in a deeply powerful way.

I once had a client use the analogy of fixing a car to describe therapy: therapy isn't the mechanic you call to fix your car, but rather the toolbox you use to address the car's issues to run again! My goal as a therapist is to help clients recognize their personal strengths and help them maximize their potential to thrive in life. I provide mental health counseling for concerns such as depression, anxiety, family conflict, education and learning disabilities, life coaching, school concerns, sports performance, and self-esteem.

Our past experiences, especially childhood experiences, directly influence who we are today, either consciously or unconsciously. A trained, empathetic therapist can help you unravel some of those past experiences to figure out why we do something and then intentionally do something that brings in healing. I believe that effective therapy can help someone choose a better future and to get out of the shadows of their past. The work can be hard, but if done with the right therapist, it can feel rewarding and enlightening.

What does it mean to be perfect? Oftentimes, we tell ourselves that life will be better, we’ll be happier, with the perfect body. I work with clients who are struggling with their body image and the conditions that typically come with it: anxiety, depression, negative body image, and eating disorders. They are doing what they can to love who they are, regardless of what their body looks like, but want support in developing strength, confidence, and resilience.

I like to look at the person in front of me and then determine from the many methods I have studied what will be the best route of treatment. I have worked with teenagers in crisis, couples needing assistance, parents struggling to connect, people with severe depression, those struggling with addiction, and much more. I am an LGBTQA+ ally. I have helped people deconstruct religious trauma. I have also helped with other types of abuse and trauma. I specialize in expressive arts therapeutic approaches and development of self-care and coping skills.
