In addition, my education, training, and experience has afforded me the knowledge and ability to assist you in finding the happy ending you are seeking.

How can we have more peace, resiliency, and deeper connection in our relationships? How do we reduce anxiety, depression, harmful or addictive behaviors? We often wonder how or if it is even possible to change life-long patterns that have limited our potential and growth. Research indicates (as well as my personal and professional experience) two, very powerful approaches to change and healing that provide long-term results: the spiritual Recovery model and Emotionally-Focused therapy. Both approaches, coupled with an honest willingness to change, and an experienced therapist, hits the "bullseye" on the target for effective change!

The team at A New Direction understands that individuals come to a point in their lives when change is needed. We are here to offer the support, resources and skills to accommodate a healthy lifestyle while working on "the self" to incorporate needed changes that lead to a productive life. I'm a firm believer that mental health care is for everyone, no matter what obstacles you're facing. It's my goal to normalize mental health care for all people. Just as you see a doctor multiple times per year, whether you're ill or not, proactive health care is crucial for a healthy, balanced life; the same goes for your mental health. My ideal client is any human being interested in navigating the rivers of their life, no matter the challenge(s) you're facing. My goal is to help you identify and explore your entire and true self. I am so glad you are here! My name is Rebecca Brown and I am a LCSW licensed to practice in Utah, Colorado and Arizona. I offer counseling and coaching to individuals, families, couples and groups. My specialty areas of focus in therapy have been relationships, loss of a child, grief and loss, women's issues, adoption-related issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, obesity, bariatric surgery assessment, weight loss, self-image, self-esteem and body image and the working with the LGBTQIA community. I have also launched an executive and business practice focused more on excelling individually in your business and career.

Addiction and its accompanying issues make life a struggle for both the client and for those who love them. Those in active addiction intuitively know there is a gap between the life they're demonstrating and the possibilities their potential affords - if they could only get out of their own way. My methods promote profound fundamental change: the shedding of self-destructive attributes, the definition of a clear, compelling vision for the future, and the tools clients need to implement strategies that will enable them to become the best possible version of themselves.

My career began in the field of Substance Abuse. From there I have been working with children, adolescents, teens, and adults with various mental diagnoses over the past 13 years. I am involved in various Human Rights campaigns and a firm believer in equality. My philosophy is simple, provide no-nonsense, affordable care for the people.
