I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I have 5 years experience serving children, adolescents, families, and veterans through individual or group therapy who are dealing with issues that affect their mental health and well-being. More specifically, addressing a variety of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, substance abuse, and personality disorders. My passion for counseling was rooted in my experience with at risk youth from my childhood to my career in education. I saw the importance of being seen and heard and addressing the individual's needs to attain success versus expecting rote societal compliance. Transitioning to being a therapist from a school based educator was a direct response to understanding that we must first address our lived experience and individual needs to see how that informs our present circumstances and future goals; so that we can achieve our goals while also having autonomy regarding the pathway we choose to get there.

I believe everyone has the ability to become more than they are right now. We've all made mistakes and decisions that have brought us to places we would rather not be. My goal is to help you reevaluate your life, recalibrate your direction, and reclaim the future you want. I use simple and brief therapies that are supported by research and years of experience in the field. I have extensive experience working with men struggling with addictions, couples and their relationships with each other, and individuals in life transitions. I am a highly trained therapist who works with children and adolescents ages 3-18 as well as young adults and parents. I received my undergraduate degree from Dallas Baptist University and my Masters in Counseling from the University of North Texas. I have also worked with foster and adoptive children and their families and I am trauma informed as well as having experience in education. I create an open environment with positive regard for my clients without judgment of the circumstances they find themselves in.
