I have worked in various settings, across all platforms and populations and have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, addictions (alcohol, drugs, and sexual), OCD and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical and/or sexual trauma or emotional abuse. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. Throughout my career I’ve worked with individuals across various populations providing mental health counseling, career counseling, mentor-ship, and life coaching services. I have worked in a variety of settings to include residential group homes, outpatient mental health, inpatient mental health, and community based counseling. I specialize in working with clients coping with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, anger management, trauma, and individuals of the LGBT community who are seeking a safe space. I believe we cannot change things that are outside of our awareness, and we cannot grow without first having acceptance of where we are in our journey. The things that we seek to change about ourselves are not “weaknesses;” in fact, the very behaviors and beliefs that are no longer serving us now may have been necessary survival defenses at one point in life. My goal is to help you understand where in life you developed those behaviors/beliefs, how they have shaped you, and how they can be shifted into a more healthy, adaptive approach moving forward.
