For over 20 years in the Clear Lake, Baytown and Galveston areas, Ms. Layne, has provided child( ages 6+), adolescent, adult, couples, and family therapy. She has provided trauma-recovery, cognitive behavioral, behavior modification, and insight oriented therapy, to survivors of sex, physical, emotional abuse and other life changing events. Ms. Layne has extensive experience working in juvenile justice systems, and under the guidance of psychiatrists, and psychologists providing assessments, crisis, short, and longer term therapy services.

I work with young children, tweens, and teens to build self-awareness, compassion, and healthy communication. Most of the individuals with whom I work suffer with social skills, anxiety, poor self-image, or impulse control concerns. I use a collaborative style of treatment that includes input from the child themselves, the parents, and other health care providers. I believe it is crucial to consider developmental level, motivation, support systems, and current strengths to help build healthier forms of coping.

Family Service Center is a counseling agency in Galveston County serving individuals of all ages and their families. FSC also collaborates and provides services at multiple community-based settings to best serve client needs. I received a BA in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas, a MS in Counseling from the University of Houston - Clear Lake, and a MPhil in Developmental Psychology from Walden University.
