As a Board Certified Christian Counselor, I believe stress can get in the way and that the anxiety that results can lead to getting stuck in life. Often this requires identifying what issues are "getting in the way" of our happiness. Importantly, individuals yearn to construct a new path that has a sense of purpose. We specialize in sports performance, sports psychology and mental health for athletes. Regardless of the challenge you face, our role is to guide you toward a more fulfilling and satisfying life in and out of sport. We'll help you focus on what is most important to you and teach you how to overcome the barriers that get in your way (e.g. stress, anxiety, relationships, etc.). This will include helping you gain a deeper understanding of your concerns as well as teaching you specific skills and strategies you can use to manage the challenges you face, and ultimately move toward the goals you have in your life.

Clients utilize my testing and evaluation services to determine the nature of their learning difficulties and to develop a treatment plan tailored to help them overcome these difficulties. Many clients receive counseling to help them to improve their school or work performance and to improve their self-esteem. Referrals are made to medical doctors if medications are deemed necessary (i.e., for ADHD, depression, etc.). Also, I am passionate about helping others with various emotional difficulties, relationship problems, and improving general life satisfaction through individual, family, and group therapies.

I help people make the changes they desire in their lives. I don’t use EMDR. DBT. EFT, IFS or any of the other new-fangled techniques. What I do is listen deeply and with compassion and without judgment. I strive to help you better understand yourself and any patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior that are holding you back from being who you want to be. I have over 40 years of experience working with a variety of problems. I am also an ordained spiritual director and appreciate the opportunity to work with individuals who want their spiritual lives to be addressed as part of their counseling.
