I help people make the changes they desire in their lives. I don’t use EMDR. DBT. EFT, IFS or any of the other new-fangled techniques. What I do is listen deeply and with compassion and without judgment. I strive to help you better understand yourself and any patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior that are holding you back from being who you want to be. I have over 40 years of experience working with a variety of problems. I am also an ordained spiritual director and appreciate the opportunity to work with individuals who want their spiritual lives to be addressed as part of their counseling.
The process of working through and resolving problems provides an important opportunity to learn and grow. I am particularly gratified when counseling leads a person to a level of living they could not have attained without going through the problem that brought them to me in the first place.
I think one of the most important aspects of any counseling is the strength of the connection between client and counselor. It is vital that the client feels heard, understood, and respected and experiences the sessions as focused on helping them achieve the goals that brought them into counseling.
