Individual therapy for ages 18+: A lot of my clients have sought out my services because they have felt "a little lost" in life. Whether it be work stress, parenting, or relationship issues, life became overwhelming and maybe some symptoms of anxiety and depression appeared. I work with clients by joining with them in their journey and figuring out what is happening and what next steps are truly desired. Many of my clients have been with me for years as we bump (or roller coaster) along life's journey. Therapy is NOT in-person and is conducted via Zoom. As a licensed psychologist, my treatment approach utilizes Evidence Based Practices and includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I have experience treating a wide range of mental health issues with particular interests in Neurodiversity (Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Learning Disorder), Trauma (PTSD, CPTSD), and Anxiety Disorder (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Specific Phobia, Generalized Anxiety).

I have been involved in research, assessment and treatment of AD/HD for the past 25 years. Individuals with AD/HD usually experience difficulty with focus and concentration. However, they also experience difficulties with procrastination, time management, planning, organizing, and completing projects at home, work and/or in school. There may also be difficulties with delaying gratification, impulse control, memory, and feelings of restlessness. These symptoms impact work, school, friendships, family, intimate relationships, and overall quality of life. An accurate assessment of AD/HD is an important step toward getting help.

I am currently only accepting certain clients for my waitlist. I do have spots available for my Parenting Classes. I specialize in helping children, teens, and adults manage and decrease their anxiety. While anxiety can be a part of daily life, at times it becomes debilitating or distressing. I work with my clients to find a way to balance daily stress while still finding enjoyment in life. I utilize evidence-based practices that are based on science and measurable goals. I like my clients to feel involved in the process of choosing goals and measuring their own progress and successes.

Many people come to counseling unaware of what to expect. For many it is the unknown that is terrifying, or for others, confronting difficult patterns in their life. Whatever the case may be, know that whatever you have been dealing with, you have been doing the best that you can up until now. As you enter into therapy, know that the strengths that you have utilized up until this point are still important. We will build on these strengths together and identify what obstacles lie in your path. I come to this work with an open mind and with a diverse array of skills ready to meet you wherever you may be on your journey.

Parenting is a difficult job under the best of circumstances. But if you are parenting a child who goes from 0-60 in less than 3 seconds, frequently asks (or begs!) you not to make him/her go to school, and the principal has you on speed dial, then your circumstances are extreme. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you "should" be able to handle it. Situations like these don't resolve themselves and seeking professional help is the best thing you can do.

I have throughout my career developed and implemented Women's Outpatient Treatment, Trauma-informed treatment, Seeking Safety groups, Better Boundary groups, Co-occurring groups, Smoking Cessation groups, providing assessments for mental health, and ASAM Assessments. This has also required building community liaisons and partners with referrals to treatment facilities that provide inpatient/outpatient services and reporting to third-party referrals such as Corrections, Child Welfare, DMV, and other Mental Health organizations.
