Mr. Parente has had over twenty-five years of extensive experience working with youth in a variety of outpatient and inpatient settings. He has worked at Bradley Hospital, Kent County Community Mental Health Center (Reunification Program), Pawtucket Police Domestic Response Team. He has experience with addictions and worked at Edgehill of Newport as a supervisor of substance abuse counselors. In addition, Joe was also the clinical director of Turning Point and a clinical consultant at Whitmarsh, a residential facility for adolescents. He is a graduate of Rhode Island College where he received his BA and MSW in social work.

Mike Petrarca is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 14 years of experience. He has a MA/CAGS degree in mental health counseling from Rhode Island College. He also works at Rhode Island School of Design in their counseling department and has worked at Butler Hospital in both the Young Adult Partial Program and OCD/anxiety Intensive Outpatient Program. He has a vast array of experience including specializing in OCD/social anxiety/panic disorders, depressive disorders, anger management, existential issues, phase of life issues, ADHD and autism spectrum disorders.

Canada. I have over 25 years of child and family work, working in disability, fostering, & child welfare & protection services. My areas of expertise include child, adolescent and family therapy. I have a particular skills in working with adoptive & foster parents and social workers caring for or managing a child /youth with a suspected neuro-disability but does not meet criteria for diagnosis.

I have a history working with adults, children, couples and families. I enjoy working with a diverse population. Change is inevitable in life however how one moves through it is up to the individual. Behavior is changeable but only by the person that has the behavior not by his/her partner, parent, friend etc.

I have practiced as a neuropsychologist for over 34 years. I enjoy evaluating and treating people who have experienced disorders of the brain including concussion, traumatic brain injury and dementia. I also have over 34 years experience evaluating people with chronic pain. In addition to working with people experiencing brain disorders or chronic pain I have also had expertise in evaluating and treating addiction.

I believe that I am not much different from many of the clinicians working for GENNEW, providing outpatient therapy services. I like to work with clients from all different backgrounds. I believe that I work well with both anxiety and depression, but especially dealing with those who want to understand themselves better. Relationships in Crisis: We Have Several Private Couples/Marriage Workshops & Individual Sessions, in order to Rapidly Accelerate Your Healing & Your Communication Process (Traditional 45 min. session Simply Does Not Work). During these 2 to 4 weeks, we will see both of you Together & Individually, as well as Help each of you Learn the Art of Empathy, Sensitivity & Compassion. These Workshops are Informative & Powerful, in order to Accelerate the Healing Process & Stop any further Damage from Occurring. In Addition, Our Success RATE is 85% of Our Couples that have Successfully Completed Our Couples Workshops or Alcohol Treatment.
