I am fully trained in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
I enjoy working with clients who want to get to the root of their struggles. These clients would like to gain insight into their symptoms, something difficult that has happened to them or to explore cycles and patterns that aren’t serving them. The clients I see often have attended therapy in the past. The clients I see also often present with attachment-based traumas, symptoms of post-traumatic stress, and difficulties in their personal and work relationships.

I integrate practices from several evidence-based modalities and practices such as EMDR, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Do you struggle with trusting others or with feelings of not being "enough"? Do you experience negative, unhelpful thought loops? Therapy is an invaluable space where you can begin to investigate all the parts of yourself and begin to heal and thrive. I specialize in treating adults with anxiety, depression, and symptoms of PTSD, particularly resulting from interpersonal trauma, through attachment focused EMDR. I will hold space for your pain and help you connect to the best version of self. I can help you to increase your sense of calm, decrease anxious and depressive symptoms and change unhelpful beliefs and thought patterns.

This may simply include traditional talk therapy, or EMDR, play therapy or art.
I'm experienced and passionate about helping adolescents and young and middle-aged adults navigate relationship concerns. I'm eager to help each client grow a deeper sense of self and experience healing and freedom that can come from sorting through attachment wounds, learning how to identify and communicate their needs and demystifying and establishing healthy boundaries. I believe learning how to regulate your nervous system can be an essential part of therapy. I will help you develop healthy coping skills, while also helping you recognize the unhealthy coping mechanisms you may have and understand why you may have developed them.

I am trained in DBT & MI and am currently completing my EMDR training.
My ideal population is adults struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, or substance use - however I believe that everyone deserves to have a therapist who is dedicated to them, and I would never turn away a client unless their needs were out of my scope of practice. My ideal client is someone who is motivated for therapy and is willing to learn.

I received my master's degree from La Salle University in Clinical Counseling Psychology and am a Licensed Professional Counselor who is well-versed in EMDR and the TEAR model of grief issues.
Hello! My name is Gregg and I help people through some of the tough times in their lives. I believe that we adjust to new experiences using the tools we already possess and a desire to thrive in new surroundings, but sometimes this striving to survive can cause us emotional and behavioral difficulties. I provide supportive guidance through these situations using tools from cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative, and existential therapies, from the psychodynamic approach.

EMDR trained by an EMDRIA-approved program.
You want to move past racing thoughts and avoiding your life. Past sadness and low motivation. Past the same draining arguments with your partner. Past experiences that follow you and won't stay in the past. And past big decisions that get you stuck. You are looking to get out of feeling overwhelmed. You want to learn how to get more control. You want more than mediocre cookie-cutter therapy. You want therapy that is personalized for you and about you. You want therapy that fits into your stressful life. Even if asking for help is hard for you, you’re at a point where you are ready to do it because you want something to change.

"It is the quality of our relationships that will determine the quality of our lives." -Esther Perel. Why is it that our most important relationships can feel the most challenging and combative? Silly squabbles that lead to distance and instability can cause us to feel lonelier next to our partner than when we’re alone. We feel caught in a loop of endless drama unable to escape the gridlock.

It is easy to feel overwhelmed and lose one's sense of True North. Issues and experiences from the past may require healing and integration. Current challenges may require more inner wisdom and resourcefulness than we can access on our own. Many people need support to resolve conflicts, deepen connections and expand their lives. Relationships require a solid sense of self, good boundaries, and compassion toward oneself and others, which all can be learned. Even without a religious affiliation, spiritual practices such as gratitude are often enriching. I value new insights, suggest homework and teach practical skills.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
