A favorite story I often reference in my work, filled with metaphors and twists and turns, is The Wizard of Oz. At the end of the story Dorothy discovers that she has always had the power to return home to Kansas. However, the power was hidden from her and she did not know how to access or utilize it. I am not the helpful Glinda, but I do collaboratively assist my patients to define and achieve their goals by optimizing their hidden strengths and skills.

While each client is different, I generally view the circumstances that bring an individual into therapy as often due to a combination of factors, such as current life stressors, biological influences, and the impact of family & other important relationships.

Using play as their voice I will help your child with those issues by teaching coping skills and gently guiding them to think before acting. At times I will provide you with tools to use at home so your child has consistent support. I have experience working with children on the spectrum, ADHD, ADD, ODD, Conduct Disorder, and DMDD. I also have experience working with both children and adults with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and trauma.
