While my licensure is listed as Marriage and Family, I primarily provide individual therapy. I work with the age range of 18 to 55. I have a focus in a variety of specialties and have a subspecialty in Substance Use & Addiction, though I cannot provide drug & alcohol counseling for court-appointed therapy.

Your Goals may be to improve sleep, use 2-3 skills to help identify and work through ANT/Cognitive Distortions, keep a food mood diary, and incorporate foods to improve mood. You may be seeking psychoeducation surrounding the effects of alcohol, including it being a depressant, identifying 2-3 techniques used to promote physical wellness, and using 4-6 days per week (cardio, yoga, stretching, etc.).

Through his consulting firm, the AVH Group (S-Corp), Dr. Haley lends his experience to organizations in Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. As a consultant, Dr. Haley assists companies with start-up, capacity building, and unique-robust programming to meet the needs of disproportionate negatively impacted groups. My ideal population is adults struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, or substance use - however I believe that everyone deserves to have a therapist who is dedicated to them, and I would never turn away a client unless their needs were out of my scope of practice. My ideal client is someone who is motivated for therapy and is willing to learn.

I am experienced in depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relational conflict, family systems, addiction, criminal justice, anger management, eating disorders/body image, and mood disorders. The ideal client actively wants to explore their behaviors and thinking patterns and identify the underlying causes of these behaviors. In addition, the ideal client will be willing to tackle goals inside & outside therapy sessions. My ideal client would be an individual who is internally and externally motivated to change their life. They show up to sessions on time consistently and make a conscious effort to engage in the therapeutic process.

I will teach you how to live fully in each moment, be unapologetically and authentically you, cope with stress more effectively, regulate your emotions, and improve your relationships with others. My ideal client is ready to work with me, as i support and guide them. I will work with you if you feel like you're doing mostly ok, and I will work with you if you feel like you are a mess and don't even know where to start. Healing is hard work, but it's so worthwhile and I'd love to help you get to the other side and be able to live your best life as your best, most authentic self.

Compulsive behaviors impact all aspects of one’s life, including thoughts, feelings, and actions. They can lead to various addictions, including substance use, sex, social media, relationships, gambling, and more. People with compulsive behaviors often struggle to align their actions with personal goals. For more than twenty years, I have supported individuals struggling with compulsive behaviors. I built my practice upon the idea that anyone can recover if given the right tools and environment, and I aim to provide a safe space where clients gain insight into their emotions, experiences, and behavioral patterns.

I have successfully treated people struggling with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma/PTSD, loss of a loved one, sexual difficulties, and relationship distress. I work with individuals, couples, and families, with the goal of helping people become more aware of and more comfortable with themselves and others. Life is complex, and I enjoy the challenges of assisting people through their unpredictable journeys. I create a supportive therapeutic environment where my clients feel safe to explore themselves, their relationships, and the world around them.

I have worked with problematic sexual behaviors and physician boundary issues for over a decade and have a passion for helping clients find answers. Often the behavior is not the issue but the client's reaction to the behavior or there are underlying reasons for why they are engaging in maladaptive behaviors. Each client is unique and the issue is often about unmet needs for nurturing, control, power, love and connection. Helping clients find the answers, their resiliency, and improve their healthy sexuality is an amazing part of the work that we do together.

Much of my professional work is with adolescents and their families. In my work with teens, I employ a mix of humor, authenticity, and curiosity about their struggles. From a stance of openness and compassion, I work to help teens explore their individual difficulties, confront potentially self sabotaging patterns, and develop coping strategies that are unique to their needs. I have helped many teens move beyond their pain and find healthier, freer, more fulfilling lives.

My work as a therapist is to help people who are struggling with the full range of psychological issues (including anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic health issues (e.g., Long COVID, chronic pain), substance use, panic, social anxiety, and adjustment issues) find satisfaction, meaning, and fulfillment in their lives. I have found that a therapeutic relationship built on warmth, empathy, and genuine respect provides the foundation for healing and change in therapy. This approach to therapy generates long-term improvements for people suffering from the broad spectrum of painful human emotions and challenges.
