I am an LCSW that has been in the field of counseling and social work since 1995. I am of the belief that everyone deserves help and support with dignity and respect. I specialize in addictions, gambling addiction, dual diagnosis, GLBT issues, grief and bereavement issues as well as have over 15 years experience in hospice and helping patients and their families cope with end of life issues. In addition I have expertise in group counseling for early recovery, families in recovery and grief support.

We understand that each client that we work with is a unique individual who has been and continues to be influenced by their culture, family, friends, values, beliefs, and personal traits. Treatment first begins with clearly understanding you, as a unique individual, and then identifying the goals in which you wish to achieve, followed by developing a treatment plan based on those individualized goals.

As I feel called to compassionately serve others through therapy, I am eager to hear their story and spend time processing what that means to them. Everyone has their own unique situation and journey they have been on, and with that we can collaboratively find coping skills, practical goals, and help make sense of what they have been going through. Although being vulnerable in therapy may not always be easy, we can work at a comfortable pace in hopes of healing. Anyone who has the willingness and desire can benefit from therapy. It is my hope they may learn to increase self-awareness to live a better version of themselves.

With almost twenty years working in human services, I have dedicated my career to working with adolescents, teens, and adults experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, including family conflict, relationship issues, anxiety, stress, trauma, PTSD, depression, grief and loss, co-occurring issues, domestic/family violence, childhood trauma, self-esteem issues, and self-harm.

As a licensed clinical psychologist, I provide psychotherapy to adults and couples facing a wide range of issues. My approach to individual therapy integrates mindfulness- and acceptance-based techniques to guide people toward a healthier relationship with emotional distress and problematic behavior. Cultivation of psychological insight and awareness is used as a springboard for growth, empowerment, and the pursuit of balance and value-driven action.

I enjoy working with various populations including, but not limited to, those struggling with day-to-day stressors, depressive/anxiety related symptoms, interpersonal stressors and trauma. Clients can vary from adolescents to adults in various settings including both individual and family sessions.

I enjoy helping people to live in wellness and wholeness. I think the therapy relationship is critical to being able to work as a team to accomplish that. I always hope to collaborate with my clients to set therapy goals and design a plan to achieve them. My focus is on providing a therapy setting in which people can learn new skills to cope with difficulties, recover from trauma, adjust to life's challenges, and improve their functioning. I approach therapy from a cognitive-behavioral perspective but use other approaches as needed to assist clients to reach their goals.

My therapeutic approach is primarily client-centered, which means my goal is to hear you, support you, help you figure out how and why your life isn’t meeting your expectations, and how you can effect change in your life. Whether you're feeling unfulfilled, overwhelmed, anxious, or unable to appropriately cope with life's challenges, therapy may be the first step in understanding those feelings and learning how to empower yourself so that you can live more confidently and peacefully.
