Welcome and thank you for exploring my profile! The process of therapy begins with hearing your story and the things you are struggling with. I hope to provide a non-judgmental, safe place where counseling care is contextualized to meet your needs. I believe that what we do flows from who we are. And when we experience various traumas/stressors in our life, we can internalize them and believe unhealthy narratives about ourself and the world. While learning coping skills/practical tools are important, I have learned that working through the core/root issues are where long-lasting healing takes place.

I focus on the client as a whole individual, rather than a disorder, and encourage healthy behaviors across various aspects of life. I conceptualize individuals and form treatment plans tailored to each client's unique characteristics, strengths, values, and needs. I work diligently to create a safe, empathic, and supportive environment for my clients.

You’re feeling stuck, you're feeling overwhelmed, you're out of options. Readjusting to life after a traumatizing experience makes some aspects of your life feel like they are out of control. When trauma strikes it can feel like you don’t know where to turn. You’re impatient with yourself and are feeling shame and guilt for allowing these emotions to take charge. People you have always relied on for safety, may no longer know what it is you need to get well. You’ve heard “get over it” and you want to, but it's just not that easy. You know what you’re experiencing is real but it’s hard to understand why you’re feeling this way.

I have been in the field since 2013 with a primary focus of working with teens and young adults who have experienced trauma, life transitions, depression, and many other mental health needs. I received my B.S degree in Psychology at Oklahoma Wesleyan University and my M.S degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lubbock Christian University. I have been trained in AF-EMDR through the Parnell Institute.

Inclusive Counseling provides individual, couples, family, & group therapy regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, etc., via Telehealth . All individuals have value and the capacity to create positive change in their own lives. Connecting or 'clicking' with your therapist is essential to therapeutic progress. I am most effective treating individuals, couples, and families who are struggling with relationship issues, family conflict, coming out and other LGBTQ related concerns, substance abuse, parenting, grief and loss, and physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.

Having raised four children, two of whom we adopted, I am able to understand the unique needs and stains of both motherhood and children trying to find their place, the stresses of being a mother and how our thoughts and feelings effect our relationships. It wasn’t easy to find a therapist that used mercy and truth. But through those challenges, I learned patience and listening skills that allowed me to assist my clients in achieving their goals.

No matter what has happened, there is a pathway to peace and hope. I am honored to be your guide and support on that path. I naturally will see the good in you and together we will build on your strengths and learn tools for overcoming obstacles. There is freedom from the past.

I have worked primarily with POC and other American Cultural Minority populations, including South Asian survivors of domestic and sexual violence, LGBTQIA+, and many others. As a first generation Tamil-American, I have extensive personal and professional experience with model minority stressors, cultural trauma, immigration abuse, religious abuse and various other struggles common for those that identify as a minority in America. I believe that therapy is meant to be a space of mutual collaboration, to help work towards and help understand those aspects of your life that motivated you to seek guidance.

I specialize in working with women with eating disorders, pregnancy and postpartum challenges, and trauma (of all kinds). I use a collaborative counseling approach and highly value the therapist-client relationship. As a therapist, I am committed to establishing a safe place for you to process current struggles, identify and explore the deeper “root issues,” and improve coping and daily functioning.

Having been a teacher for over 20 years, Chris shares a passion for working with children, adolescents, and their families. She has the experience and interest in supporting individuals with disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, ADHD, and Behavioral Issues. Chris also works with families as they navigate life within their home and school. She has experience working with individuals and groups in grief and crisis. She utilizes a variety of techniques to best serve her client's needs.

If you are reading this, you likely have spent quite some time trying to pick out the "perfect" therapist for you. Finding someone you connect with and feel safe in sharing your life experience with can feel like a daunting task. I hope to be that person for all of the clients I work with. I firmly believe in taking a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy and like to meet my clients where they are at. I also know that each human being is different, and therefore will have different needs in therapy. As such, I like to tailor my care to meet each of those unique needs with an individualized approach.

Sometimes as we go through difficult seasons personally or in our relationships in life, dark thoughts can begin to arise: “How did I get here?”, “I don’t know how much longer I can do this.”, “What’s the point in trying anymore”, and it goes on. Being lost in these questions and the darkness can be so consuming that we reach a point to where we don’t even recognize the person in the mirror anymore. I am here to tell you, you don’t have to fight that agonizing fight alone. I want to turn this dark season of life to illumination of purpose, uncovering truth and strength.

Seema Nair is a licensed professional counselor with over 20 years of service in the field. She has experience counseling individuals from various backgrounds and cultures. She specializes in several areas including anxiety, depression, grief, stress, self-esteem, and relationship issues. She uses an eclectic blend of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused treatment. Her approach is to provide a warm, empathic, non-judgmental safe space to process.
