Our ability to experience wellness is deeply tied to our thoughts, beliefs, and choices. When life overloads and overwhelms us, emotional and behavioral problems often emerge. We feel stuck, discouraged, angry, or scared. But we can also discover and develop new strengths and resources to equip us to effectively cope with the challenges of life. As a psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, it is my privilege to help others on their journey to wellness. I work with adults age 18 and over and have expertise addressing a broad range of problems, including anxiety, depression, anger, poor self-image, and addiction.
My aim is to help you better understand the nature of your difficulties so that you can more effectively pursue a joy filled life. I utilize empirically supported cognitive-behavioral interventions to assist clients identify and change negative thought and behavior patterns, improve emotional health and relationships, solve problems, and relieve suffering.
In addition to my clinical practice, I have served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at Rockhurst University and as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the UMKC School of Medicine, where I trained and supervised psychiatry residents and predoctoral psychology interns in cognitive-behavioral therapy.
