Winding Road Therapy Group specializes in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and emotional disorders in adults, young adults, teens, and children. We recently welcomed a new associate, Jessica Ham. Jessica is a licensed social worker in Ohio. She utilizes EMDR, mindfulness techniques, and somatic experiencing to address trauma, trauma-based OCD, and related issues. Jessica is currently accepting new clients.

Everyone could use someone in their life that listens objectively and actually hears what you are saying. I think all of us deserve that person. I have a more direct approach in counseling, paired with kindness, humor, honesty, and empathy. I have several years of experience working with anxiety and depression, but also Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Schizophrenia, Sexual Orientation/Transitioning, Relational problems, and other issues that so many people are challenged with.

Reaching out for help takes a lot of courage and insight. I am here to help. I have worked in the counseling field for the last 20 years in private practice, treatment centers and in Higher Education. I enjoy helping others work through life situations and difficulties to regain their sense of self and worth. I utilize the treatment modality that fits your personality and comfort level. I bring with me a wealth of knowledge, empathy and a belief that no situation is hopeless.

Lori Wolfe earned her master's degree from Ohio University in 1994. She has worked in private practice settings, as well as community mental health. Lori's treatment focus is couples, adults, and very young children. She specializes in helping families with parenting concerns and new mothers experiencing postpartum depression. Lori is adept in assisting couples with marital issues and she has a wealth of experience treating adults with anxiety and depression.

Dr. Hilfer sees patients ages 12 and up. She conceptualizes cases using CBT and family systems theory. She treats patients struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, PTSD, addiction issues, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, and body dysmorphia.

I have many years of experience working with early childhood trauma and severe, persistent mental illness, varying from ages of 5 years to 70+. My goal is to empower and advocate for positive change within you, as the individual, and the system as a whole. The place that we will create together is a safe and judgement free space. I work through an Existential foundation, to help those I work with seek meaning and purpose, with skills built from experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, all within the context of a trauma-informed approach.

When they enter counseling with me, clients are experiencing depression and anxiety. Usually it is moderate to severe; at times it is in response to a current stressful event or loss, for some clients, their depression is long standing. It is not unusual at all for a new client to have seen therapists previously, without benefit. Yet, after four to six sessions, they tell me that they have already started to experience much benefit, with this also being obvious from there presentation of self, and body language. With further sessions, the client moves into an exalted state of happiness or even euphoria. Remarkable & Joyous to see!

As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, I have experience working in inpatient settings, university counseling centers, and substance use treatment facilities. Clinical areas of focus include anxiety and mood disruptions, LGBTQ+ concerns, life adjustments and transitions, college student success, trauma, and substance use concerns including people connected to medication-assisted treatment.

There are times in our life when we can feel "stuck" and unable to move forward to live the life we desire and deserve.
