In addition to offering 60 minute sessions, Amy also offers EMDR Intensives available in 2, 3 or 4 hour increments. Longer sessions are available with special scheduling. Counseling helps people who have problems or concerns that they are not resolving to their satisfaction by themselves. The counselor can help to identify the problems and offer an environment in which to test new ideas and behavior safely. The goal of such counseling is to help clients deal more effectively with the people, situations, and issues they face.

I want to share a goal with my clients to create a partnership where clients feel empowered for growth, healing, and positive change. Although I have a traditional office setting offered year round, for those who are interested in a new approach to problem solving, I offer an alternative approach to traditional counseling by linking clients with horses during their sessions. Equine Assisted Counseling or equine assisted therapy, incorporates horses into families, and individual counseling sessions to facilitate emotional growth and learning.

I practice with adults of all ages, older adolescents and couples.  I treat clients with problems related to depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship/marriage conflicts, substance abuse issues and those individuals who struggle with emotional regulation.   I have worked in a variety of settings including outpatient mental health counseling, residential treatment, felony court, and inpatient counseling.  I believe the best treatment modality is important for success.  I practice using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and a few others.
