Ashley Pennington, MSW, LISW, is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Master's Degree in Social Work. She brings a wealth of experience from various practice areas including mental health, child welfare, education, homelessness, corrections, and veteran services. As a veteran, she values cultural differences and has a unique perspective on therapy. Additionally, Ashley has a strong background working with children in educational settings, particularly those with trauma backgrounds who require assistance in navigating and managing their emotions.

I help clients learn to effectively manage life challenges and build emotional resilience through improved coping, communication and relationship skills. I am also a certified food and eating wellness coach, and can help clients address some of the nutritional underpinnings of mood issues, including anger, anxiety and depression. I work with clients who experience anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, behavioral addiction, and disordered eating, as well those who have experienced grief, co-dependency, low self-esteem, physical/ emotional abuse and family of origin dysfunction.

I am a clinician that specializes in treating those effected by trauma and complex trauma from children to adult ages. With this population, I utilize TF-CBT and EMDR. I am also skilled and trained in PCIT for those children ages 3-9. and families. I have a very diverse caseload which includes clients of various ages, family and couples counseling, as well stage of life transitions. I also have experience using DBT for the population of those suffering from personality disorders. It is my goal to improve the quality of life for all my clients.
