I help clients learn to manage life challenges and build emotional resilience through improved coping, communication and relationship skills. I am also a certified food and eating wellness coach, and can help address some of the nutritional causes of mood, energy and focus issues. I work with clients who experience anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, behavioral addiction, and disordered eating/food addiction, as well those who have had difficult life experiences, suffer from the effects of co-dependency, or low self-esteem, or have lived with physical/emotional abuse and family of origin dysfunction.
Learning is the brain's superpower. We can all learn how to manage life challenges, stress and relationships in healthier ways and bounce back more effectively. I take an eclectic, client-focused approach to therapy and use CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment strategies, as well trauma-focused therapy such as EMDR.
I am a second-career counselor with significant life and work experience using the same tools I help my clients learn and use in their lives. As a result, I add understanding, empathy and knowledgeable support to the professional counseling and wellness strategies I offer my clients.
