Do your emotions ever feel overwhelming, disorienting, or even frightening? Whether you’re dealing with trauma, grief, infertility, caregiver fatigue, or a demanding career, these experiences can overcome you, leaving you feeling disconnected from yourself or your partner or exhausted from holding everything together for others. Our sessions can be a place to slow down, make sense of what's happening inside, and feel supported without judgment. Together, we'll move through emotions that may have long felt too heavy or unsafe to face alone and learn to use those emotions as meaningful signals to better understand your needs.

I offer virtual therapy with flexible evening and weekend hours.
You show up for everyone else. At work, at home, in your community. But deep down, it feels like you’re running on empty. You’re not falling apart, but you’re stretched thin. You want clarity, calm, and space to just be yourself. I work with individuals, couples, caregivers, and individuals navigating identity or faith-related stress. My role is to help you slow down, make sense of the overwhelm, and reconnect with what matters most.

I offer in-person and online individual and couples psychotherapy, as well as clinical supervision and consultation.
I work with men in their late teens to late 30s who feel emotionally disconnected or stuck despite appearing functional on the outside. Clinically and personally, I take my own maturation seriously, and that depth of engagement carries into the therapeutic work. Before becoming a therapist, I studied religious studies and ethnomusicology for years in India. I also owned and operated a sheep farm for five years in rural Tennessee. All these experiences led to me becoming the therapist I am today. Therapy isn't just my job, its my passion.

My practice helps with suffering from inner pains, to help understand yourself deeper, and to help find satisfaction in relationships, romance, and work. Suffering reverberates throughout life, darkening abilities with creativity, playfulness, romance, and effectiveness at work. This can lead to things like depression, anxiety, frustration, desperation, addiction, deadness, and isolation. I am keen to discuss how these problems have long tendrils that reach back into the past and how they exert their influence in your present life. I have specific interest in working with creatives and outside-the-box thinkers.

I practice therapy because I believe in the human capacity for liberation and healing, and our ability to empower each other and collectively improve our lives. I don't know what living a life that you love and value would look like for you, but I'm excited to find out together. I primarily work with people with serious trauma histories. I’m especially experienced in working with LGBTQIA+ folks, and with the kink and poly/ENM communities. I know how important it is to not only be affirmed in your identities, but understood as someone connected to the larger world.

Telehealth ( video) sessions Monday through Thursday.
You've been in therapy. You can talk about your attachment style and you get why you shut down during sex. Knowing all of it hasn't stopped your body from doing the thing. My clients are therapy veterans frustrated that insight alone hasn't moved the needle. They are navigating desire discrepancy, sexual pain, performance anxiety, infidelity recovery, neurodivergent sexuality, or how invisible identities shape their relationship to pleasure. We work with what your body is doing in real time; the protective parts, the cultural scripts, and the moments you intellectualize or override yourself to stay in connection with your partner.

FAQ - About Telehealth Therapy
Is online therapy as effective as in-person?
Numerous studies suggest that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. However, further research is needed to determine if online therapy provides the same benefits across all client populations. Individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or those who may benefit from in-person check-ins, like those with eating disorders, may not experience the same level of benefit from online therapy. Nonetheless, the success of online therapy, much like in-person therapy, often hinges on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client rather than the specific modality of therapy used.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of therapy conducted online?
One of the main advantages of online therapy is its convenience for both clients and therapists. It also allows clients who require specialized therapy to access a wider range of professionals than they could with only in-person sessions. Additionally, online therapy may be a more affordable option in some cases and often offers the same insurance benefits as in-person therapy. However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who value face-to-face interaction with a therapist. Therapists may find it more challenging to assess clients accurately in an online setting due to reduced nonverbal cues on camera. There is also the increased risk that disruptions caused by external factors, such as technology malfunctions, can hinder the therapy session. For these reasons, many therapists offer a "hybrid" therapeutic approach, alternating between seeing clients in-person and online.

Is online therapy suitable for children and adolescents?
Just like with adults, the accessibility and convenience of online therapy can greatly benefit children and adolescents. In fact, children and adolescents may be more accustomed to navigating online platforms than older adults, making online sessions feel more natural for them. Teens might also be interested in using additional online tools, such as therapist-recommended apps, as an adjunct to online therapy sessions. Apps for developing CBT skills, practicing mindfulness exercises, or tracking thoughts and moods can be helpful for teens receiving therapy. However, it's important to note that not all therapeutic modalities are well-suited to online therapy, especially those used with younger children. For example, play therapy, which helps younger children express their emotions, often requires in-person sessions to be fully effective.

Can I receive prescriptions and medication management with online therapy?
The ability for psychiatrists to prescribe medications through online therapy varies based on the medication and the states where the medical professional and client are located. While many prescribing regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, some states still enforce rules, especially concerning controlled substances, which may mandate an in-person visit before prescribing. Generally, however, medical professionals can prescribe non-controlled substances through online therapy sessions just as they do during in-person sessions.
