A safe and comfortable counseling relationship is the most important aspect when trying to locate a counselor. I provide a secure and relaxing environment that encourages and allows the development of the counseling relationship. Being a goal oriented counselor, I rely on the collaboration with my clients in the development of their counseling goals.

I believe that effective Psychotherapy is the result of many factors. Two of the most important factors, in my experience, are: Technical Competence of the Psychologist and the Therapeutic Match of Client and Psychologist. The Psychologist's Technical Competence develops from the Psychologist's education, ongoing training, and clinical experience. A good Therapeutic Match enables the client to feel confident in and comfortable with the Psychologist. In my experience Clients are able to assess Therapeutic Match within one to two sessions; on the other hand, it may take longer for Clients to assess the technical competence of their Psychologist.

It is hard to say what my ideal client is because I believe that I am capable of working with various types of people and that each person is unique. Even with a "challenging" client, I have learned a lot and found value in the work. With that being said, my ideal client has a history of trauma that has impacted their ability to connect with others and themselves. They are struggling with body image, intrusive thoughts, and anxiety about how others are perceiving them. They want to be empowered to advocate for themselves when necessary and create a wellness routine that serves as a preventative measure for mental health problems.

Are you feeling stuck? Is it starting to impact the relationship with yourself or others? My clients are caring, well-intentioned, and often overextended individuals dealing with various responsibilities (career, education, relationships, health, friendship, family, financial stress, etc.) I help my clients establish healthy coping strategies for their stress and anxieties to restore their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. My office is a safe space to be human. It's truly an honor to walk alongside my clients as they work through their challenges and embrace the aspects of life that are most important to them.

My ideal client is a young adult aged between 18-30. Their issues and needs may look like learning how to control anxiety symptoms, increasing emotion regulation and distress tolerance while improving mindfulness. This client is motivated and willing to work with the therapist to learn how to change their life to meet their goals.

There are times in one's life when difficulties arise that need the help of a specially trained listener. I can help explore these challenges in a safe, authentic, nonjudgmental atmosphere. I have been a psychotherapist for over twenty years and have over nine years of advanced training. I work with teenagers (14 and up) and adults suffering from a variety of personal, emotional as well as social problems. If needed, I work in collaboration with psychopharmacology.

I thrive when working with young women. Whether they’re struggling with school-related stress or struggling to process a breakup, I can quickly build rapport with folks in this demographic. My treatment plans include goals dedicated to helping people identify their triggers for emotional dysregulation. I believe in the importance of somatic and cognitive level wellness strategies and work to have my clients learn and implement both sets of skills. I have enjoyed working with a variety of diagnoses, including adjustment disorder, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD.

My ideal client would be motivated to achieve better for themselves. They could be coming for anxiety, issues in relationships, or a stressful life event. They would be choosing to focus on themselves, what they need, and seeking help. They may be struggling with negative self-thoughts and emotional regulation or simply need guidance in how to identify and verbalize their feelings. Their goals for therapy would be to process their thoughts and emotions while developing long-term skills to use in the future.

A client who is continuously present physically and mentally for treatment is ideal. Despite setbacks and stressors, they still move forward, only taking a moment. Their issues can be environmental, situational, or psychological.
