I believe strongly that clients come in all different shapes and sizes and from different walks of life. Therefore, I do not have an ideal client, as my wish is to help anyone who needs it regardless of their experiences, needs, and goals. I welcome the experiences I will gain from having diverse clients.

I am a Licensed Clinical Worker (LCSW) with over 25 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, couples & families. During my career, I have worked with individuals of varied cultural backgrounds, life situations and in settings such as schools (K-8th), outpatient mental health offices, intensive outpatient programs, hospitals, universities and within the military. I am a Certified Clinical Supervisor (LCSW-NJ), Certified School Social Worker (NJ), Disaster Response Crisis Counselor (DRCC-NJ) and former Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC).

“I don’t want to talk about it!” “You wouldn't understand!”... sound familiar? Sometimes your children don’t understand what may be happening either, and communicating that can feel impossible. I help children, teens, and young adults ages 4-19 explore, understand, and gain confidence around who they are, how they feel, and what they think. I support children and equip them with the tools and skills needed to effectively manage thoughts, emotions, and interpersonal relationships.

The first step in an individual’s path to healing is to seek help from others. Understanding how our life experiences affect us while simultaneously learning new ways to cope enables us to become more grounded; ultimately leading to better quality of life. My goal is to create a safe and nonjudgmental environment where we can explore your life on a deeper level. I am eager to build a relationship with you and provide guidance throughout your journey.

At Bridge to Balance we work with children, adolescents and adults. We are offering both Telemental Health and In-Person Sessions to current and new clients-including individual, family, couples, and group therapy. At Bridge to Balance, we understand that life is a journey which may present many challenges and struggles. We work with each individual to help discover the tools they need to find their inner strength and thrive.

Throughout my career as a counselor, I have learned many things that have been a hard lesson to learn. The biggest lesson that I have learned is that there are so many concepts that we face as people that influence us to be something we are not that we almost forget who we are at heart or who we want to be in life. I am a believer that the goal of therapy is to not need it any longer - so we'll begin talking about what you want your life to look like at the end of treatment on day one. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. I often use humor in my sessions - a little bit of laughter can be necessary to balance the heavy topics we'll cover together. I believe in targeting the root causes instead of treating just the symptoms so that you can enjoy long lasting improvements.

Just like a co-pilot supports the captain of an aircraft, my role is to provide guidance, a listening ear, and a steady hand as we navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. I will co-pilot through the turbulence, help you navigate through the rough patches, and find smoother skies ahead.

I became a therapist to help my community. I started working with children diagnosed with Autism over 10years ago, I became a registered behavior technician to further my knowledge to continue more in-depth work in community mental health using ABA. Regardless of the success I had as a technician I knew I wanted to do more so I obtained my Clinical Mental Health Counseling Masters Degree. I finally felt like I was doing the work I always dreamed of doing. Upon graduating I was immediate hired at the community mental health clinic where I worked with children, teens and families of diverse backgrounds.
