Our practice was built on the premise that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. We "click" or "don't click" with people we meet in our everyday life, and therapy is no different. We can assure you that our therapists will be genuine, provide you with empathic and professional care, create a safe environment, and will not treat issues or concerns they are not trained to treat. However, you are the only one who can decide if you truly like and trust your therapist. We have six awesome therapists to choose from but, if none of us work, we encourage you to keep looking and find your therapist!

Amber Monserrate, MS, LPC, LCADC is the owner of Advanced Counseling Services, LLC and the director of The Gloucester County IDRC. Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor with a Master's in Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counseling. Amber is also an adjunct professor at local colleges teaching counseling and psychology. Trained in providing various assessments and therapeutic interventions for mental health (such as anxiety, depression, trauma) and substance use disorder. ACS now has a male and female therapist.

I work well with people struggling with anxiety and low self esteem. One of my strengths is building a person's self confidence and bringing out all their successes and accomplishments. I take great joy in highlighting all the work that a person has done throughout therapy and the progress towards their goals. I make sure to assure them that they are working at their own pace throughout their journey and that I am there to lend support where needed.

Lauren Brown is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience in mental health care. She has a passion for working with women of color, specifically Black women and couples. Lauren has extensive experience working with many populations, such as ex-offenders reunifying with their families, those seeking employment, and severely and persistently mentally ill individuals at a state-run psychiatric facility. Areas of expertise include forensics, people with severe and persistent mental illness, and vocational stressors. Lauren has a Master's in Social Work and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Rutgers University.

I have had over 25 years where I have helped all individuals make mind/ body connections to manage their mental health needs while improving their lives using many different cognitive behavioral skills and psychoeducation techniques.

My eclectic, therapeutic approach is to treat each client uniquely, while providing the support required to empower & attain a full and productive life. I help my clients bring themselves to a level where they are able to function productively and move forward as they author their own changes. Life can sometimes be difficult and there are times when we may need help to navigate our way through it. Therapy can guide us to understand ourselves, to reflect on and make sense of our experiences and to give us the resources to cope with challenging and unpredictable circumstances.

It's not easy making that first phone call to speak to a therapist. In fact, it can be quite scary! I place a strong emphasis on authenticity and the client/therapist working relationship.
