We are always looking to serve our Veteran population, active duty, retired, and purple hearts. We work to provide diagnostic clarity and properly aligned evidence-based treatment and interventions for your needs at this time. I approach treatment to all including multicultural treatment for children of very young ages from 2-12, and teenagers and adults that are in need of help through 1:1 talk therapy and/or skill/brain training. Karen earned a MA in Christian Counseling from Columbia Evangelical Seminary in 2001 and another MA in Community Counseling form Charon State College in 2008 and has been a fully licensed mental health practitioner since 2012. Karen's specialty includes, Abuse and Trauma TBRI Practitioner (Trust Based Relational Intervention), PTSD, Counseling for Families Affected by Disability, Christian Counseling, Divorce Recovery, LGBTQ Counseling, Grief, and Bereavement, Personality Disorders, Senior Adult Counseling, Stress, Anxiety, and Depression, Children, and Adolescent with family and individual.

My focus is to come along side those who are hurting. I see each person as a miracle in the making. Focusing on the four dimensions of life - mental, physical, emotional and spiritual, I strive to help each client find balance. I desire to be a journey mate and problem solver. Using faith-based insight and a variety of effective counseling skills, I help my clients as they work to reach their full potential.

I have 30 years of experience helping people work through emotional, psychological and relational issues, both as a pastoral counselor for 13 years, and for the past 20 years as a licensed mental health practitioner. I am Grace oriented which means I take a nonjudgmental, accepting approach with clients.

My greatest strength within the therapy world is trauma and crisis intervention. I'm trained in several evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help with common emotional stressors including, trauma, depression, and anxiety. However, I also believe in a wellness approach to treatment as we can never separate the "mind" from the body. I'm passionate about awareness and taking a pro-active approach to treatment that includes an integrated component in working with your healthcare team in order to create a treatment plan that is based on your goals with the support of your "team."

I believe every person deserves to feel safe, secure, and at peace within themselves. My approach is to work with a client collaboratively. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families in a relaxed setting. I have over 13 years of experience working with mental, emotional and behavioral health issues. I also have over 19 years of experience with career counseling and working with individuals experiencing academic difficulties.
