My greatest strength within the therapy world is trauma and crisis intervention. I'm trained in several evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help with common emotional stressors including, trauma, depression, and anxiety. However, I also believe in a wellness approach to treatment as we can never separate the "mind" from the body. I'm passionate about awareness and taking a pro-active approach to treatment that includes an integrated component in working with your healthcare team in order to create a treatment plan that is based on your goals with the support of your "team."
I've worked specifically to design and implement new programs and processes to improve the delivery of mental health services in several roles. I believe that the mental health should be accessible to all people. Through my experiences, both within the government and civilian sector, I've become skilled at crisis assessment and continuity of care.
The most defining thing I've realized within my entire career is how little "actual" control we ever have over any type of situation. Whether it be how someone treated us or the circumstances that surround us. Yet we do ALWAYS have control in how we respond, and this is where your "power" lies.
