For over 20 years, I have helped children, adolescents, and adults discover new and healthy ways to manage stress, anxiety, and depression. My counseling style is warm and interactive. My ability to listen actively, treat others with respect, compassion, and dignity, and offer new perspectives, provides clients with a safe place to address concerns. First and foremost, I support and affirm all LGBTQ+ identities and I am respectful of all racial, ethnic, and cultural identities and experiences. I spent 21 years in the U.S. military and have been peer mentoring in the addiction recovery community for over 10 years. My time with these two populations, and my own personal experiences, have given me a passion for understanding and treating trauma and the many conditions that arise along with it. I use a trauma-focused approach that processes foundational issues while learning coping skills that can quickly lessen symptoms.

My primary specialty is attachment theory. Attachment based modalities include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy for Families (EFFT). Other areas of speciality include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is effective in treating trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). I am also growing in my ability to apply Internal Family Systems (IFS) in my practice with clients.

I strive to offer a therapeutic space for discovery, building hope, and transformation. The challenges that I commonly support people through include Depression, Anxiety or OCD/Phobias, Maternal Mental Health/Perinatal Trauma or Challenges, Life Transitions, Childhood Trauma or Trauma Processing, and ADHD/ASD. The goals with these presenting problems often include creating a sense of stability, finding effective coping strategies, building support systems, and developing a strengths-based or resilient narrative of their story.

He is Licensed in 25 states and has served clients from all age groups. Over the years, Dr. Jeff has organized lectures and various events in the community, including excursions and retreats for couples to improve their communication and better understand each other. He has experience working with athletes in the NFL, NBA, and MLB. In addition, Dr. Jeff has also worked with clients in the Movie, Music, and Entertainment Industries.
