At Realize B Therapy & Consulting, my therapeutic modalities include: Problem Solving Treatment (PST), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Behavioral Activation, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Complicated Grief Treatment, Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
When people experience seasons of struggle, as we all undoubtedly do, sometimes therapy can be a valuable resource to help us find clarity, navigate uncertainty, lean into change and growth, or rediscover and restore what we once knew about ourselves. My philosophy in terms of treatment is one of partnership. I aspire to create a space, whether via video or in person, where you can feel safe to be vulnerably seen and heard, and my hope is that, at the end of our time together, you will feel empowered to live your life to the fullest, equipped with a diverse array of coping tools that you can confidently call your own.

I welcome all backgrounds and identities, and cater to each individual, while focusing on feminist therapy, internal family systems and other specific techniques such as mindfulness, DBT, CBT, and motivational interviewing.
Beginning the healing process can feel quite daunting and understandably so. The good news is that narratives can be unlearned! I challenge my clients to turn inward and learn how to consciously trust their natural intuition while gaining awareness towards a deeper sense of self. Here, we will explore the body and mind connection, and how it relates to your current coping and behavior. Whether you have spent years in therapy or if this is your first time, you can anticipate a judgment-free space informed by creativity, humor, and compassion.

I practice an integrative approach to counseling informed by cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment, and motivational interviewing.
Hello! We can all get overwhelmed. New challenges can emerge, coping skills cease working, and new skills need developing. Therapy can help light the way. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, panic, depression, ADHD or everyday life becoming unmanageable, therapy can provide the tools you need to cope. I want to be there to support you during this process. Therapy starts with the formation of the counselor-client bond. Therapy is a relationship where a private, supportive, and non-judgmental alliance is fostered. Psychic injuries, biological dispositions, familial experiences, and successful life experiences shape our present.

I have experience in utilizing treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and have a growing perspective on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Prioritizing mental health is paramount to improving your wellbeing and quality of life. Together we can develop goals that are relevant to your own unique character, culture and values. Although the approach to treatment is evidence based and often theoretical, your life experience and story will remain the most valuable point of reference.

After receiving my graduate degree from Boston University, I pursued additional training in trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy, parent/teen mediation, addiction training, and motivational interviewing.
Have you wondered if you would benefit from therapy? I offer a complimentary consultation to discuss any questions you may have. As a senior therapist at Greenwich Psychology Group, I enjoy working with children and adolescents that may be struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral or family issues. You can talk to me about anything; nothing will surprise me. I am accessible to parents and easy to talk to. I focus on your child, recognize their strengths, and develop tools to become their own therapist by learning how to deal with challenges. Clients often feel better early on in treatment.

I am a caring, eclectic, and nonjudgmental therapist who specializes in working with adolescents, ages 12-24. I come from a place of empowerment and am trained in CBT, DBT, talk therapy, motivational interviewing, and superhero therapy. I am also in the process of getting certified in TF-CBT. I start where the person I am working with is and get to know them! I try different things with clients and see what they like and don't like, and we go from there. I don't believe therapy is one-size-fits-all. I love helping young people work toward their goals and feel better about themselves!

Motivational Interviewing Therapists

How does motivational interviewing work?

Motivational interviewing aims to uncover a person’s internal motivation to change their life. Toward this end, the therapist listens, empathizes, and collaborates with the client based on their perspective; the therapist doesn’t adhere to a predetermined plan for change or impose their viewpoint on the client. Discovering an individual’s most important reasons for change, and guiding them to achieve those changes, can empower people to shift from ambivalence to action.

Is motivational interviewing evidence-based?

Yes, research shows that motivational interviewing can help treat alcohol and substance use — and in different ways such as reducing drinking, reducing resistance, and increasing the likelihood of staying in treatment. Motivational interviewing has also been shown to help people lose weight, adhere to medication regimens, improve diet for those with Type II diabetes, and improve healthy behaviors in children.

How long does motivational interviewing last?

Motivational interviewing is a short-term therapy that can last just one or two sessions. In some cases, motivational interviewing may be used in conjunction with longer-term therapies, but for most people, motivational interviewing is a brief intervention that aims to help patients understand their personal, specific, and internal reasons for changing their life.

What differentiates motivational interviewing from person-centered therapy?

In person-centered therapy, the individual is in the driver’s seat of the treatment process, creating space for them to trust their instincts and arrive at their own solutions. The two approaches are similar because motivational interviewing is also client-centered; however, person-centered therapy is more open-ended while motivational interviewing is somewhat more structured; the goal is to change, and the therapist helps the client specifically discover their internal motivations to modify their behavior.
