For more than 20 years I have worked with families in a variety of settings through a variety of issues. It is my desire to help you, your child, and/or your family work through any issue in order to experience a fulfilling life. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety/depression, relational issues, divorce related issues, self-esteem, and personal identity issues.

Sometimes life gives us more than we can handle by ourselves & we could use a bit of help navigating our way through it. We all have struggles as well as our own individualized higher purpose to fulfill. I'm here to help process your thoughts, feelings, & experiences so you may move forward in a healthier, more positive direction where peace & contentment can be found using a mind, body, spirit approach to healing & growth. We (Ben and Taylora Bookie) are a husband and wife team who share a common vision to minister to individuals, couples, and families who need support and encouragement in any area of their lives. We love God and we love people, and out of this love we want to come alongside others to promote wellness and health in all areas of life.

Taking the first step toward the change we desire can be just as scary as it can be confusing. That’s why I’m honored to be able to walk alongside you on that journey. In my experience, strong relationships are one of the biggest predictors of positive outcomes in psychotherapy and ultimately facilitates the individual in accomplishing their goals. My strengths lie in my desire be clinically sound in practice but to also show genuine humility and compassion that creates real trust. Welcome! Pursuing a therapist can be an intimidating process that takes so much courage. I am a Master Clinical Social Worker, with over 13 years of clinical experience. I strongly believe clients must first feel safe and connected before the healing process can begin. I am deeply passionate about this work, and strongly believe that people deserve the opportunity to better understand the impact of their story, in order to live the healthiest life possible.

I am a neurodiverse-affirming, LGBTQIA affirmative, and culturally aware therapist who offers authenticity and a space where you will be seen, heard, and respected as an authority and expert on your life and your strengths and challenges. In therapy, I will help you learn to understand and embrace your identity, find compassion for yourself, develop coping strategies for living in a stressful world, and help you find your unique balance.

Candy is a Clinical Licensed Master Social Worker and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, operating in the mental health field for over 20 years. Specializing in trauma recovery and substance abuse, she works extensively with a diverse population of children, adolescents, adults, foster care/adoption, and families. In addition, she facilitates both groups and individual therapy for all types of addictions. Candy also provides training to schools and agencies on the basics of trauma and affects it has on the developing brain.

Every client comes from a different background, with different experiences, needs, thoughts, and expectations. With this in mind, my goal is to listen, discuss, and try to understand my clients, where they are coming from, who they are, and why they need me. Together with my clients, we work to identify goals that the client feels are significant and important, and then develop plans on how to achieve these goals in reasonable, managable, and most importantly, healthy steps.

The general goal is to assist the client in identification of issues, develop a plan of action, and to gain motivation to implement that plan. This is a very personal process. It is educational and developmental by nature. The counselor is the facilitator of the process that helps the client take responsibility and action to come to a resolution.

Finding a happy and productive life is the counseling goal by noticing areas where change can facilitate healing, improving friend and family connectedness, and highlighting purpose and personal fulfillment.

I work with children, adolescents, adults and families with varying challenges and symptoms. I have specialized training in providing care to those who experience depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and systemic family concerns. Every individual is unique and presents with unique needs, to which I will meet with where you are currently at. I will join you on your journey to help achieve your goals and work towards personal growth and healing. Change is hard. Self-growth is hard. Both are the most rewarding things you can do for your self!
