My understanding of counseling comes from many different theoretical orientations. I believe that clients have the solutions to their dilemmas within themselves and just need assistance in discovering them. We have the freedom to choose what directions our lives take and the responsibility to take control of that freedom. Therefore, as a counselor, I don’t have the answers to problems but will facilitate the process of helping clients take control and action to come to their own resolutions. This is a holistic process and I fully believe that with the right guidance clients can fulfill their truest desires in life.

I work with individuals, couples, and families. In session, I take a Person Centered approach to develop a treatment plan that best outlines the progress the individual, couple or family wants to make in therapy. By utilizing a Brief Solution Focused Therapy approach, this model can assist in accomplishing therapy goals in a short time frame. Additionally, I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy . My graduate and doctoral coursework has also trained me in multiple other therapeutic models.

Working with childrens and teens with grief/loss, life changes, school issues, anxiety, depression, anger and/or trauma is my passion. In addition to that, I also enjoy working with parents who are searching for support for behavioral issues. In my 16 years of experience I have been trained in Infant Mental Health, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and extensivly trained in Parenting Skills.

My goal is to help you work through challenges in your life by encouraging you to explore and discuss these concerns. We will develop goals to work towards change in this process.
