I work from the assumption that we are all doing the best we can, with what we know, and with the resources available to us. Therapy is the ideal place to expand our understanding of ourselves and add to the skills that keep us resilient during life’s challenges. It takes tremendous bravery to be vulnerable enough to examine our deepest beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. A normal, protective fear pops up whenever we consider asking the hard questions because there is so much uncertainty: What if I can't handle it? What if I’m judged and the shame is unbearable? What if I'm no longer needed? What if it never ends?
As your therapist, I will provide a safe, non-judgmental, strengths-based, and empathetic environment where you can bring all parts of yourself, including your doubts and fears. I will treat you as the expert of your life and acknowledge your resiliency in coming so far despite many obstacles.
Using an integrative approach and evidenced-based practices, I will collaborate with you to co-create the care that you need and deserve. You are brave for being vulnerable, and I would be honored to accompany you as we navigate this messy thing called “life.”
