Since 2003 I have been focused of helping adolescents and their parents addressing the many issues that so many teens are dealing with these days. I have helped teens and families dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Spectrum issues, addictions as well as behavioral problems whether it’s acting out or acting inward.

I enjoy working with people of all ages. I've been providing psychotherapy and other clinical support services for over 30 years in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, community mental health centers and private practice. I've been providing art therapy and clinical counseling at The Center for Health and Healing for 25 years.

Greetings. I imagine that you may be struggling with many difficult emotions, behaviors, and/or situations at this time. My passion is inspiring women in transition, addressing depression, trauma, anxiety and substance abuse while focusing on empowerment and independence. Hello! If you are here, that may mean that you are looking for help with something. Diving into traditional counseling may seem scary or daunting, it doesn’t have to be. My work is informed by a belief that although our perceptions may be shaped by our histories, we have the capacity to both benefit from and transcend past life experiences. I use cognitive behavioral, insight-oriented and supportive strategies to help individuals identify and address areas of importance to them. Based on the needs and wishes of each client, we will look at past events and current beliefs and patterns of behavior to move toward a rewarding future.

In the adult client, I especially enjoy witnessing one's ability to reject ineffective patterns of thinking in order to reach and sustain personal growth. Facing what we find to recognize either by internal or external forces that needs correction, is the first step in the process of effecting change. In adolescents, a shift to effect change can be a bit more challenging but no fault of theirs. Helping clients to navigate the life courses; expected and unexpected can be an exciting process to experience.

I offer an opportunity for you to explore what is troubling, and am sensitive to needs for safety and trust. Feelings can often be confusing, symptoms, such as depression and anxiety, can sometimes be overwhelming - I will help you gain understanding and clarity so you feel that you can impact the areas of your life in need of adjustment. I believe it is possible to have a sense of meaning in your life, your work, and your relationships, despite past traumas or experiences, and will work diligently with you to find this.

Therapy provides an opportunity to be empathically heard, to gain insight into thoughts and behaviors, to identify and practice healthy coping skills and to cultivate growth and resilience in a safe and welcoming atmosphere. I offer a trauma-informed approach for a variety of client needs, utilizing traditional psychotherapy and other techniques such as EMDR, play therapy, guided imagery therapy and somatic tools to promote healing and wellness.

I am a compassionate, caring clinician with over three decades of experience in helping people to get unstuck and no longer hurt. I like the work I do and I am good at it. Working with individuals, couples or families, I see my role as creating a safe space to express feelings, explore life paths, heal and enhance relationships and help people achieve their maximum human potential. Frequently addressed issues in therapy include coping with stress, anxiety and depression, recovery from recent or past personal traumas, dealing with bereavements and plain learning how to achieve meaning and happiness in life.

I provide individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults as well as family therapy. I have worked with individuals and families for over five years. Children, adolescents and families often find themselves struggling with difficult emotions and communication, acting out on these emotions through a variety of behaviors that can influence and injure relationships. I work with my clients to help them recognize what may be triggering these emotions and behaviors, and then support them in making positive changes within their relationships. I have experience treating individuals with depression, anxiety, behavioral challenges, anger management, and relationship or family struggles.

I work with individuals, ages 18 and up, to address a variety of concerns, including (but not limited to) Depression, Anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress. My background is in Depth Psychology, which means that in addition to helping clients contain symptoms, I help them to explore what is behind those symptoms. As uncomfortable as some emotional experiences can be, what we call "symptoms" often contain valuable information about what we want and need and the state of our-selves.

With 20 years in the treatment field and over three decades of personal recovery, I have a full range of experience in the areas of anxiety and depression, relationship, couples and family dynamics, substance abuse, addictions, PTSD and trauma. I am a trained practitioner in CBT, DBT, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, EMDR and TRM (Trauma Resiliency Model) modalities and specialize in working with adults in a broad-based practice.

I primarily work with adults and multi-person romantic/platonic units, but have experience with people and relationships from every stage of life, from children under 10 to adults over 100.
