While I have extensive training in treating trauma and sexual behavior problems, I also have experience and training in treating other mental health problems such as: Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Panic Disorder, ADHD, and chemical as well as process addictions.

Arella earned her Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, with a specialization in clinical social work. During her clinical training, she provided psychotherapy services for adults and adolescents. Arella focuses on helping clients navigate life transitions, internet and pornography addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. Utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), she strives to tailor my clinical approach to meet the unique needs of each client.

The mere thought of therapy can be daunting, while in actuality most of us ask for advice from those around us everyday. What makes therapy different from asking a coworker, friend or relative for their advice, is my approach to therapy. I believe therapy is allowing you the space to work out issues, the space to feel free and learn about yourself in new ways. Therapy is looking at your thoughts and behavioral patterns for maximum effectiveness to your desired goals. My approach is best summed up in a quote by Benjamin Franklin, “There are three things extremely hard: steel, a diamond, and to know one’s self.”

I enjoy challenges and diverse people and helping those who are in difficult situations. I specialize in responding to crises, trauma and workplace problems. So ideally I approach each situation, person or group with an open mind and a non-anxious-presence. I strive to provide that same level of confidence and trust to people in therapy. My strength is understanding complex systems (the big picture) and finding the little steps to improve things. Britt Rathbone is an expert in the treatment of adolescents. He graduated from Columbia University and has worked exclusively with adolescents and their families since 1985. He has a special interest in challenging, difficult to treat, and treatment-reluctant adolescents as well as those who have multiple and complicated mental health diagnoses. He trains therapists, speaks to professional and lay groups, and has taught advanced level social work graduate students at the Catholic University of America. Washingtonian Magazine has consistently named Mr. Rathbone one of Washington's best therapists for adolescents, and one of Washington's best therapists for group therapy.

I am passionate about helping people deal with issues of anxiety, depression, addiction, shame, habit change, self-compassion, and finding purpose. My experience ranges from working in schools to hospices, which lends itself to working with people in all stages of life. I offer a non-judgmental, collaborative exploration where clients can tap into their own capacity to heal, accept, and love themselves and others. With that, I offer practical steps and tools to work on for each client depending on their individual needs.

Joseph “Joe” Gallagher, LCPC, NCC, CCTP, BC-TMH, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and a Board Certified-Telemental Health Provider. Joe is a multiculturally competent therapist who is passionate about assisting clients in identifying and achieving their goals. Joe delivers an integrative approach to therapy, believing that every person is intrinsically valuable with a unique story to tell. Joe believes that all individuals have the right to be heard by a caring professional who will provide a safe space to grow and learn to be their best, most happy self.

I enjoy working with adolescents and adults of all ages, but I have a particular passion for working with college students and LGBT individuals. I also enjoy working with folks with a variety of concerns including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief, relationship issues, low self esteem, body image concerns and gaming addiction. Dr. Walton is dedicated to working with communities, organizations, and individuals to develop applied solutions to challenges affecting vulnerable and marginalized populations. Her professional experience includes working within international humanitarian organizations, the legal arena and doing this work living on every continent except Antarctica. Dr. Walton is passionate about systems and the people who function in them. She is a wife, a mother, a caregiver and a daughter of immigrants.
