There is nothing like being listened to and understood on a deep level, with genuine interest, unconditional positive regard, congruence, empathy and acceptance. This is what I strive to offer in therapy, as we explore together your hopes and dreams, your losses and regrets, your longings and fears. Many people come to therapy to free themselves from self-defeating patterns, maladaptive behaviors and the legacy of past traumas, so they can be more truly themselves in relation to others and live with greater satisfaction and meaning.
My approach to therapy incorporates non judgemental, compassion and encouragement, while utilizing evidence based methods. I employ cognitive-behavioral, family systems, psychodynamic, short-term solution focus, supportive reflection, dialectical behavior, grief and loss therapy, and mindfulness models in my practice.
Through a collaborative framework, I work with individuals, couples, families and address issues including: mood problems, anxiety, self-esteem issues, transition for immigrants, relationship conflicts, women’s health, grief/loss, and life transitional difficulties( separation, divorce, college, relocation) I'm dually licensed in MD and DC.
