Welcome! Making the decision to look for support is not an easy one, but I am glad you have taken the first step. My name is Anne Jenkins (Lawrence). My path has always brought me to a place where I was able to collaborate and assist in the process of healing from trauma. I am also experienced in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders; supporting persons who are members of the neurodivergent population navigate their experiences; supporting individuals who are discovering their gender identity and/or sexual identity as well as persons navigating change, grief and loss.

Life can present many challenges, twists, and turns that can be quite difficult and puzzling. Therefore, I provide clients with the opportunity to explore those challenges and discover ways of addressing them. Through a confidential, non-judgmental, and empathic therapeutic relationship, I provide clients with the opportunity to address their difficulties which may be keeping them from realizing a more satisfying sense of well-being.

The primary goal of counseling is to provide the most effective therapeutic experience available to you. The purpose is to help facilitate behavior change by improving the client's ability to establish and maintain relationships, enhancing the client's effectiveness and ability to cope, promoting the decision-making process, and facilitating client potential and development. Clinicians cannot fix other people's problems; our job is to provide a safe and supportive environment that allows the individual an opportunity to build the necessary skills needed to make better choices in their life.

I have spent over 30 years in behavioral health, helping people discover and become the best version of themselves. Present problems, past hurts or even diagnoses don't have to take over our lives.

I have specific interest in treating troubled adolescents, adults, famililies and couple's. I have a wealth of experience relating to anxiety, ADHD, behavioral problems in children and adolescents, depression, trauma work, mood disorders, survivors of abuse/neglect and much more. The ideal client would be one who is motivated to explore self process in efforts to help propel themselves forward to a more fulfilling way of being.

I am a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting the health and well being of my clients. For my undergraduate degree, I moved from Central Jersey (Yes! It exists!) to South Jersey to attend Stockton University. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience from Stockton, and then moved on to attend graduate school in Philadelphia. I received my Master of Social Work Degree with a clinical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice in May of 2020.

I believe in the creative process as a powerful tool for facilitating self-expression, self-discovery, and self-fulfillment by integrating one's physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health. I incorporate a variety of modalities, such as Art Therapy (no prior art training necessary), Play Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy, into sessions while honoring each client's individual strengths and needs. If you have trauma and experience PTSD symptoms such as hypervigilance, feelings of emptiness, hopelessness and/or abandonment, nightmares, flashbacks, dissociation and ongoing anxiety, fear and depression, please reach out to me. I specialize exclusively in trauma therapies (such as EMDR and Brainspotting) that reset the fight-or-flight response in the brain and reduce symptoms. I also specialize in working with psychedelic therapies (ketamine and plant medicine integration) for whole person healing - body, mind and spirit. Utilizing psychedelic medicines are not required to work with me, however.

I have a passion for helping others heal naturally with a focus on you as a Whole Person-Mind, Body, Spiritual Holistic approach. I have been in the field for 21 years now working with children, adolescents, adults. I treat those 18 years old over. I am also licensed in the state of MD and can provide telehealth mainly. I am in MD Optum/UHC, CareFirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Medicaid insurances. I integrate traditional talk therapy interventions and can use Expressive Arts in sessions. I am also a Certified Facilitator for Dancing Mindfulness, a therapeutic Creative Movement/Meditation practice to assist with somatic awareness.
