I have 30+ years of experience working with individuals in psychotherapy. I provide a safe and collaborative environment in which we can develop a relationship that promotes healing of the self. Therapy is art as well as science, and I combine compassion and intuition with a solid theoretical base to provide treatment that encourages personal development. I believe our early experiences influence the way that we process our later experiences, and therapy can change how we understand our lives so that our responses can become more adaptive and healthy to live happier, more fulfilling lives.
I enjoy doing insight-oriented work and believe that the treatment relationship is an important part of successful therapy. I have experience treating a wide variety of issues including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, shame, guilt, relationship issues, and character disorders.
I still enjoy doing this work after many years. My commitment to growth and development is something I continue to pursue in my own life as well. Although this work is important and serious, I bring a gentle humor to it, as well.
